This story takes place on the surface, monsters aren't underground but live separated from humans.
humans who gets too close or live some time in the realm of monsters, have weird disease or curse.
The queen Toriel lives on her own after the bitter loss of her family, she just wants them back
while sans aspires to become a true guard for the queen at the company of his dear older brother papyrus who works as a sentry.
One day, searching for a birthday gift, Sans finds a small box, a very dangerous one.
