Description Name: Kamala Sumdar
Age: 31
Species: Garuda
Potential Voice:  Cree Summers - Princess Kida (Atlantis)
Bio: The gal with the eye for beauty. Though physically not exactly as how legend as describes her species, namely the bird-like heads that were actually specially shaped helmets they all were during battle, Kamala Sumdar, much like the rest of her kind, is descendant from a proud warrior race of Garudas, however for as long as Kamala can remember, instead of violence and weaponry, she has been an avid fan of beauty and films, this is mainly due to the countless film festivals she could view from her nest in Bollywood, India. Using herself as a canvas, Kamala learned the techniques used by the finest stylists in Bollywood and even managed to open a small salon by trading off gold that was passed down to her by her parents, using a Glamour Charm she managed to purchase from an overseas vendor to make herself look human in the eyes of the public. However, unfortunately Kamala only managed to stay in business for two years before the Indian branch of the MTF found out her secret and had her banished through the Mythgate. Though obviously traumatised by the whole experience at first, Kamala eventually began to warm up to her new home, especially when she met her soon-to-be coworker and friend, George Bigfoot while searching for a new job. For the next five years after that, Kamala has made it her objective to never give in to despair again and soon enough, she and George opened up a brand new salon called the "Fur N' Feathers", where they both are free to bring out the beauty in their customers for all to see.

Name: George Bigfoot + Chuck + Lilly
Age: 102 + 24
Species: Sasquatch+ Anthroavians (Chicken + Duck)
Potential Voice:  Patrick Seitz + Jason Mewes + Andrea Libman - Sloth (Fullmetal Alechemist) + Jay (Dogma) + Fluttershy (MLP)
Bio: The only mythicals in town as co-dependent as a chimera. Much like many other famous Mythicals, not much is really known about George, even in the Human world, mainly because it's due to how rare his species actually is. Though there may have been numerous sightings of the legendary "Bigfoot" over the years, most of them were merely the target of speculation, however when Mythicals became common knowledge and the Mythgate was first built, George's life was quickly changed when more and more humans came to his forest home in California and tried desperately to hunt him down. For many years, George spent his days evading capture, which wasn't easy considering that he didn't have as much common sense as most Mythicals, in fact, due to his own isolation from other intelligent life and the fact that his species was closer towards an animal than most, giving him somewhat of a naive view of the world and a lack of clear vocabulary. Thankfully George DID have a pair of friends who taught him to better survive, namely the two intelligent, talking birds, or "Anthroavians" as they are designated by the MTF, Chuck and Lilly who stick to George like glue after he helped them escape the MTF while they were still only hatchlings. Unfortunately, even after 8 years on the run, all three of them were finally captured by Van Helsing himself and banished through the Mythgate, much to the dismay of many environmental activists who surprisingly enough, were big fans of George even before Mythicals were common knowledge. Now trapped in an unfamiliar world, George quickly began to grow uneasy and wandered around like a beast, not knowing what to do despite Chuck and Lilly's attempts to help him. After hiding in the newly built town park for about a week, the only thing that even remotely resembled his old home, George eventually met a Garuda by the name of Kamala Sumdar, who George quickly began to grow fond of after she was so nice to him. During the next five years, George, with the help of the two birds on his shoulders, learnt all that he could to survive in this new world and eventually managed to make himself at home, even going as far as to live in at a boarding house and open up a salon with Kamala after Chuck and Lilly managed to help the young Garuda to teach him how to cut other Mythical's hair. It may have been a rocky start, especially with Chuck's tenancy to slack off and Lilly's over-enthusiasm clouding her judgement from time to time, but with both their help and Kamala, George eventually became one of the most well-like citezens of Mythgate City... even if he still doesn't talk that much.

NOTE: The character of Kamala Sumdar belongs to Congratulations again for their entry and win during the Mythgate Character Contest.

We finally see Bigfoot! Awesome 😄! Kamala is pretty cool too. And while the birds are a little odd, they're neat. What exactly are their jobs at "FnF?" Do they actually cut hair or something (seeing as other than wings, they have no appendages.) So excited to see the rest of the famous monsters like Nessie and Mothman.

Well think of the birds like the parrots on the pirate Captain's shoulder's from Legend of Spyro, basically their the smart ones that instruct George's every move, and correct him if he makes a mistake

Interesting. That's kinda cool. Sort of like Cotton's parrot that talked for him in "PotC."

BTW, I was curious; is- or was- there a sort of segregation or shunning system in Mythgate against certain Mythicals? The kinds I'm thinking of would be:
-Hybrid Mythicals (results of couplings between two different Mythicals, like the LaBeouf family; Cici being a possible exception unless no one knows about her status (you said her mom doesn't like hybrids),
-Mythicals whose parents were a Mythical and a human (like Diva Patel),
-Mythicals of a kind known to be untrustworthy or dangerous in the past, were too strange or odd looking even to others,
-Mythicals who were the opposite of how they usually acted (like Kamala), and
-Mythicals were changed from human to Mythical (like Dina herself) (one of the more popular ones maybe).

I'm sure Tatiana eventually made laws to keep these things from happening, but did do think it could have happened or could it continue to happen?

Undoubtedly, after all, one can't simply thrust all these species together, many of which are from opposite side of the globe and thus have no contact with each other, without expecting some form of mistrust. So yes, I imagine some Mythicals would have misgivings towards others, especially new arrivals and/or are too stubborn to accept change.

So Mythicals like Noah, the Bache Brothers and even the Michelakos and Ikeda siblings would likely have it rough the first couple of years in life. Especially if encountering Mythicals that, like you said, are too stubborn to accept the idea of change (many of which are probably like Lucy; high-ranking, powerful and ancient Mythicals who are terribly old-fashioned and hateful of change or anything not "pure" in a Mythical sense.) I wouldn't be surprised if there was a group like the Death Eaters who targeted Mythicals who didn't fit their ideals.

Plus, I'm fairly certain that former human Mythicals- like Dina herself- would receive a lot of the worst loathing from much of the community that were from Earth originally since she is formerly a member of the species that banished and persecuted against them in the first place. It would probably be worse if they knew Dina's mom was someone who helped get a lot of Mythicals sent through the Mythgate. In fact, without understanding and compassionate Mythicals, like Eunice Leeds and the Lupes, or laws Tatiana put in place to protect them, Mythicals like Dina would possibly either be hunted down by vengeful Mythicals hoping to get some satisfaction (even if the victim is no longer human,) or commit suicide as a way to escape the "Hellhole" they'd been thrust into.

P.S. one more question (so sorry 😅.) What of Mythicals like mummies, witches, ghosts, and zombies? Do they populate Mythgate as well?

Wow... you've certainly given my project a fair amount of insight, I could actually use a mind like yours during the actual writing process. Maybe I can make-you my proof-reader when I finally start the story itself.

As for the question, Mummies and Zombies would more than likely fall under the category of "Undead" so unless someone is brought back via Lich or Necromantist then they're basically nothing but corpses, and creatures like Frankenstein's monster would be considered an abomination even by Mythical standards so they wouldn't even exist unless someone was as insane as the good doctor was. Ghosts? Hmm, I did have an idea about that, a subplot that mixes "And then there were fewer" with "13 ghosts" though that's still under speculation. As for witches and Wizards... more than likely members of the Fae that were mistaken for humans during the earlier centuries due to their Glamour Charms, I guess you can say they DO exist there, but they aren't actually what they were described as. This make sense?

MegaBrony95 In reply to Moheart7 [2018-07-17 14:36:48 +0000 UTC]

I suppose I can see that. To many Mythicals, like humans, the dead would be somewhat sacred (being that some of them are UNDEAD makes it more understandable.) The only time I can think a necromancer or Lich (like the High Judge on the Council of Ten) would actually bring them back would be for defense of Mythgate, should something attack it enmass (like the MFT if they decided sending them through wasn't enough to get rid of the Mythicals (I wouldn't put it past Van Helsing if he knew what the Mythicals had done on the other side), or those things you told me inhabited the dimension first.) Even during and after, they would treat them with respect and put their remains back once they were through with their service. So I guess this means The Creature doesn't exist in this universe? Or if he does, is he like an outcasted hermit living, on the far side of the city where no one can bother him?

Sorry, if your talking about the "Family Guy" episode that parodied the Christie story, I don't watch that show actually (had to actually look it up), so... 😅. By "13 Ghosts," do you mean the movie? A house that's essentially alive and murderous? Interesting. Not sure if it would fit with Mythgate, but interesting.

The witches and wizards explanation? Makes sense actually. But that brings up another question; with how this world is now (with Mythicals- including Fairies and Elves- being seen as monsters and abominations), does that mean stories like fairy tales and stories about creatures like that would essentially become taboo, not to mention anything remotely fantasy that portrayed Mythicals in a good light? After all, as far as the MTF are concerned, all Mythicals are wicked and evil (even if the species has always been peaceful,) and since VH needs massive public support, he would want to get rid of anything that could portray them in a positive light and get people wondering if it is the right thing to do. Plus, Van Helsing is pretty much   (if you get me 😉,) so he would be obsessed with purging the world of anything remotely pure and nice about Mythicals (I'm sure that even if a Mythical was essential to the environment, he'd hunt it down; he's that obsessed and insane.) If that were the case, stories like "Harry Potter" likely are either outlawed or never existed, shows and movies like Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" (the very same one with Tatiana and Puck, as he had most likely met them and adapted their story) would maybe be outlawed, and the fantasy games like "D&D" and "Magic" would seen as blasphemous and outlawed as well. Sorry if I'm thinking too much into this 😅.

I would be MORE than honored 😀😀😀😀😁😁😁😁😄😄😄😄😄! I cannot wait for the actual writing process to begin 😊. You could send me the documents and I could look them over (see if anything needs changed, added, if punctuation is right, etc.) Let me know when you're beginning through a note and then I can give you my email address to send it to me. I'll then send it back to you 😊. Good luck with the last two pictures and the writing 😄.
