If you focus on what is there (the tower, the clouds, the amazing contrast, the depth and clarity of the clouds, the perfect, almost eerie lighting on the head of the tower) instead of what's not (a few feet of pole on the top of the tower), you'll realize that this is an incredible picture.

I feel like i'm the only one that's noticed this but this image seems doctored. there's a light source surrounding the tower which offsets the picture. and the cloud levels are unrealistic for a tower only 1,000 feet tall. Those clouds hang around the 6,000 mark which to me seems random for them to be so low. if you can prove that this is a valid picture than i give my greatest apologies. I don't want to disgrace your work because you have some wonderful pieces of art, but this one just doesn't seem right to me.

You should remember that he was taking the shot from the ground level, so aiming his camera up. And this kind of changes the perspective, just go out and try to aim the camera at some high object, what are you going to see in the background?

Makes me think of a windy day at the sea before a storm breaks out. I like it because it gives me a feeling of tension (the clouds) and safety (the tower in sunlight, the plane in the background visible above the high cloud).

It's a powerful composition. For me it looks, although that tower seems really monumental, still the clouds are overhelming...
