Description
The reason photos of space have any colour in it is because scientist and the ones actually looking add in colours for the gasses escaping. And so that's how we get beautiful pictures of the horse head nebula being a bright hot pink and the Orion's Belt being a a pretty purple and green and blue. But if you were to see these things without the colour all you've got is black and white. Sometimes you can't even see the dust clouds that make the smokey/cloudy look.
