Description This is the last of my Outbreak character portraits for the End of the Road scenario series and I saved my all time favorite for last. RPD officer Kevin Ryman.

I think I like Kevin most for his smart ass attitude and the fact that he's one of the very few RPD officers to survive the Raccoon City disaster.

It just seems to me that more cops should have lived but considering what they were up against I think it's a miracle any of them made it out alive.

I decided to show Kevin standing victorious in front of U.S.S. Commander Rodriguez and his CH-47 Chinook helicopter that the player can escape in if he gets to it in time.

Since I gave Yoko the assault rifle in the last portrait I decided to give Kevin the rocket launcher and have it still smoking from him using it to defeat tyrant T-0400TP.

I forgot exactly what was on that side of the street so I put a movie theatre and toy store there since I didn't feel like showing the street from the other angle and drawing the wrecked construction site and broken crane.

Kevin Ryman, R.P.D., U.S.S. Commander Rodriguez and other characters copyright Capcom.

I got the chinook endings for everyone one time, but then my memory card got corrupted, from then it was very rare for me to reach the chinook in time.

Thanks!

That sucks. It's such a bastard to get to the chopper in time, especially with the sniper and Tyrant attacking you at the same time. I find it's easiest to do that mission with Kevin or David.

TheOracleDragon In reply to MJMJR [2011-01-13 07:18:11 +0000 UTC]

very, RE4 corrupted the data, finished playing Outbreak, on the top of my chair, chopper ending. Next was RE4, save it for the first time 'Cannot Save Data' wth, i couldn't save my game at all, reseted it and inserted the memory card and it came up 'Corrupted' That was the end of my games. over 15 games had to be replayed.

I got Kevin and David's easy as pie, but what bugs me is that i can never get them to get washed away when you find that scientist in the sewers, only David gets washed away, with anyone else it's normal plus i don't unlock that cutscene for them which drives me nuts.

MJMJR In reply to TheOracleDragon [2011-01-13 13:20:42 +0000 UTC]

God that really sucks. I had a "mega" memory card for the PS1 that actually shorted out and I lost every single thing on it. It took forever to win all the games again and save them on my PS2 card.

I don't have the walktrhough handy but I think since David is a key character to the level it will unlock more scenes when you play as him. Whenever they show one of the main survivors in the opening cut scene of a level, it means it's character specific to them and they will unlock more stuff if you play as them. And when you don't play as the character of have them on the team more often than not that character will die and reanimate as a zombie.

From what I read each level has at least two main characters for it that will unlock cinemas not seen when played as others. Like if you play Flashback with Alyssa it unlocks bonus scenes that give you the full story on the events in that level.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheOracleDragon In reply to MJMJR [2011-01-13 15:42:04 +0000 UTC]

i was using a mega card when it happened, never had it happen before and it sucks! course a few folk say those things were rumored to do that with some new games.

He is, I was able to get most of his stuff, just can't understand why I can't unlock the other characters cut scenes in that one level, only his comes out (besides the ending with the truck)

I love Flashback. ^_^

But what really ticks me off is that I know how to unlock the cut scenes, it's just that they won't save to the collection which twists me into yelling at the tv.

Mine failed with old games so apparently they were pieces of shit no matter what you used them for.

Well a lot of it has to do with timing and what you manage to do before you get to that point in the scenario. Like if you do the same thing with each character and get through the labs in roughly the same time span each time nothing much will change.

But if you run through and do things differently or take your time and explore things more it will change events here and there in the scenario. Also each character has items and files unique to them that only they can find but you really have to search them out.On top of that, what team you make up to play through with can affect what happens as well.

Try going through End of the Road scenario with Yoko, David and George. All of them have ties to Umbrella so it might give you different results.

I noticed a lot of times you have to go through the scenario with each character being the leader at least once before some cut scenes unlock.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheOracleDragon In reply to MJMJR [2011-01-14 18:53:39 +0000 UTC]

if only they didn't fail on us xD

Hmm, usually I fool around with some of the characters in order to get items that I can unlock but I don't think I make them all move that fast though, sometimes I fool around. hmmm

When I unlocked the endings I usually pick the same two characters on my team which gave me the cut scenes before my mega card died.

will do ^_^

that bites. but then again it makes sense, some certain scenes work for certain characters that you play as. note taken

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MJMJR In reply to TheOracleDragon [2011-01-15 10:29:51 +0000 UTC]

Well some characters are impossible to get to move fast. Like Mark is the slowest one in the bunch but his strength more than makes up for it and usually if you try to push enough things with him you come across shortcuts that take time off your journey as well as unlock things.

I have a set team I always use first. Whenever I started a level I would go with Kevin as the lead then pick Mark and George as my team. Even though Mark doesn't much like Kevin he's easy to win over once you give him a few weapons. George is even easier since all he needs is one item and some thanks from you and he becomes loyal.

Well not only for scenes but a lot of times you can unlock pathways and events that aren't open to other characters. On top of that there are items in each level that only the person connected to them can find and that unlocks more outfits for them.

I know that you have to play him in the zoo you get more coins and paper, what I wish is that the AI Mark will help you push things, they should do that if they finally make REOF3.

Kevin and George are usually the first two I pick for my team.

I noticed that, I'm still trying to find all the hidden items xD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MJMJR In reply to TheOracleDragon [2011-01-15 11:49:09 +0000 UTC]

I know, I hate that his fat ass jogs by and you yell for help and all he does is shoot hyena or Titan the Elephant.

The pairs that get along the most are. Yoko and David, Kevin and Alyssa, George and Cindy, Mark and Jim. Also if you can do the coin trick with Jim and make it work he becomes a killing machine with the melee weapons.

I bought a walktrhough book and even with that I only managed to get a hold of some of the hidden character items because I was always being attacked. The zoo is the hardest one for that since the animals always shows up to fuck with you.

TheOracleDragon In reply to MJMJR [2011-01-16 08:09:59 +0000 UTC]

"Help!"
Mark: NO! *bang bang*
"seriously! I need help!"
Mark: Nu-uh!

xD

I noticed that after I played him for a while, thought the coin makes him more likely to avoid infected XD often time his playing dead saves me a lot of trouble from the Tyrant XD *faint* tyrant walks by xD just wish i doesn't kill you so bloody quick

I like/hate the zoo, the zoo infected animals was a great idea but they keep coming back at the main building which annoys the heck out of me and the elephant appearing through the windows. that one paper in there for Alyssa still puzzles me

MJMJR In reply to TheOracleDragon [2011-01-17 06:41:26 +0000 UTC]

My nephew likes to actually hold the doors shut on the others and lets them pound on it trying to get away from the zombies

Nah the coin flip trick is to make him a killing machine. Flip the lucky coin three times and get heads three in a row and his Hit Points are boosted to the max.

I never used his fainting thing much I always tended to use his speed to dodge and do hit and run attacks. The only thing he seems to suck with are the heavy guns since the recoil tends to push him around and mess up the aim for second and thrid shots

The only part of the zoo that bothers me is the part with the bugs that you can't kill in the plant house. No matter how good I'm doing on time those damn bugs and vines slow me down.

I usually trick the elephant into smashing the exploding carts when it attacks and when it's trapped in the Elephant Stage Ground I always stand behind it and let loose with the shotgun on it's ass or the Elephant Gun. Most times though I save that for the lion boss at the trolley.

What paper for Alyssa?

xD I always wanted to play it with someone.

Jim the Terminator XD I can see it happening.

What I have trouble with him is timing his combo swing, I use to get it before the memory card fried but can't get it anymore hmm

I agree! I sometimes stay on one spot and slice and hit them till they vanish from the one spot and move on but they constantly come back which makes me annoyed for the bots won't heal/cure themselves if poisoned.

xD I love trapping the elephant, when i first played that level and killed the elephant I was thinking, 'no boss at the end!' but then the lion showed up. 'Lionking?!'

It's behind the turned over desk at the main building, it's behind the door next to the office.

MJMJR In reply to TheOracleDragon [2011-01-17 15:27:20 +0000 UTC]

I do to but playing any game with my nephew is like playing with Wesker. He always kills his own team and laughs about it

I know, it's silly but the trick works

Yeah it doesn't pay to stand still in either Outbreak since the game will keep spawning zombies at random. The way I cured them not healing one another is I take George's pill gun and fill it with medicine since it's laying around all over the place and I just shoot them with it to heal them.

If you don't manage to kill Titan you have to face him as the final boss and then no lions. It's much easier to face the lions. When you got the elephant gun you can kill the male lion right at the start with the first few shots and once he's dead the level is over. You don't even need to fight the female lions that accompany him.

Pretty much anything you have to do to survive in any scenario is on the checklist but there are a few random ones.

During The Wild Things scenario there are few events that you have to do to check them off the checklist. The only one you can’t control is the scream/elephant roar event but Jim has a 50% better chance of getting them to happen.

If your at the Elephant Restaurant at the beginning of the level and you hear a woman scream or the zombie elephant roar in the distance those are random events that add points and are part of the checklist. If you play as Cindy and search the inside of the service counter at the restaurant she finds an entrΓ©e recipe.

When you play as Alyssa she has to find the memo you mention as well as a copy of The Comet Newspaper near the northeast section of the front gate area during or after the boss battle.

David can open a hatch in the Connecting Passage on the wall. Mark has to push the trolley out of the way to unlock a new path and during hard or very hard mode anyone can find the Message from Management memo near the front gate plaza and there is a torn memo in the bloody jacket hanging on the sign post near the dead tiger’s cage located on the path in front of the observation deck.

In RE5 I freaked my brother out when I had Wesker and ran by him in a flash, he was big eyed and said 'wtf was that you?'

Jim: I am the Terminator!

I do that with George all the time too, even when not playing him but what boggles me is that when we get furter along, his gun is empty even though he's been with me the whole time. I don't see him use it at all.

I enjoy beating the bosses ^_^

I got the Elephant trumpt only one time which startled me when hearing it. xD the scream I get fairly often.

i'll have to check that out.

I've played these level a bunch of times, I just wish they made the Mark AI more tentive, like help you push things. Be nice if they improved that.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MJMJR In reply to TheOracleDragon [2011-01-18 12:35:25 +0000 UTC]

hehehe nice We usually play The Wesker Brothers on the Mercenary Reunion. I always play as STARS Wesker and my niece plays as Midnight Suit Wesker and we run around the map killing everything

Sometimes George will use the pill gun to shoot zombies since the antivirus in it can kill them or use it on himself the second he's out of your eye sight. I usually just keep handing him health items so he can convert them into pellets.

Beating the bosses is great, I love fighting the final Devil Mr X at the end of Elimination Round 3.

Its the same with the ghost in J's bar. When your in the wine room you can hear a scream from it or it will smash a bottle of wine. That freaked me out when it happened

Have fun

Yeah I hate that Mark won't help push shit. That's why I always play as him second each time I go through a scenario so I can see what his fat ass can move

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheOracleDragon In reply to MJMJR [2011-01-18 23:05:21 +0000 UTC]

That's cool! I'd like to do that more often but I still have to beat it to unlock Wesker and the others on my 360 version, I hate the bugs. xD we don't call them reapers like we should we just call them bugs!

I didn't know he would shoot the zombies, that's new to me and noted. I'll keep that gun George.

My garsh! That last boss fight where they keep coming! When I reached that my eyes widen with bigness and shock O_O 'WTFH!??!' They killed me sadly, had one left to kill too! Curse you Mr. X!!!

I loved that when it happened to me the first time I thought I had my character bump into somethin' and even said 'oops!'

Will do. ^_^

xD I feel sorry for him not being able to hide. I was playing as Jim and hide in a locker and Mark was with me, out of randomness Jim told him to hide in a locker, which I still can't get them to say again, and Mark opened one and said 'Hell no!' I busted up laughing when he added. 'I can't fit.' but not being able to hide in places like that make me feel sorry for him since he has to flee the room.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MJMJR In reply to TheOracleDragon [2011-01-19 01:16:47 +0000 UTC]

The reapers are the goddamn worst. Sheva always stops to fight them when I order her to run. Then she wonders why she becomes a fucking pin-cushion.

Yeah the Devil Mr X killed me three times before I figured out it took two rocket shots to kill him. You shoot once to stagger him then you have to adjust your aim and shoot him again as he starts to charge. The timing is hard to get down but once you do it's worth the points you get for destroying him.

I just thought it was odd. I didn't realize the Bar was supposed to be haunted until I read the walkthrough

I know it sucks that he's too fat to fit in the lockers but he really doesn't need to with his strength. Even with a crappy melee weapon he's pretty unstoppable against most of the enemies. Though I usually like giving him a heavy weapon like the shotgun or machine gun. Besides Kevin he's the most accurate with guns.

Just remember to search everywhere in the start of the level to get the weapons before you set off on killing the bosses. Keep loaded on the heavy weapons and save all the rockets for the Devil Mr X at the end.
