I drew this for the cowboy theme in the 100 theme challenge I am attempting to complete in order to become a better artist.I decided for this, I'd try to do Edward Elric in a cowboy outfit. I had the most fun doing his bolo tie. I thought the cow skull would be fitting for two reasons. One... the "cow"! Two, it fits his style.
Anyway, I finally got a tablet! And, this is the first piece that I've attempted with it. I used the tablet and pen tool for lines (because I'm not proficient enough yet to just use the tablet to create them) and the tablet for coloring. It was a new experience and I'm not sure I have the hang of it yet. Oh well, this was practice.
If you have any pointers, tips, or helpful tutorials I'd love to know about them! Comments are appreciated.

Though one con i notice is the hat..Its too big for him, and wouldnt rest on his head that way..What I started to do when drawing nekos hat, was to make it part of the initial head circle, were the top was just a little bit above the curve, and then the sides tightly came down to around his ears. Though Neko has a very differnt fitting hat then a cowboy hat. You might try looking at pictures of Alucard from hellsing to get an idea of how to draw hats on people from differnt angles.

Hehe, cow skulls ftw! I dunno, seeing as it is a cow skull, I think that Ed prefers his cows dead. AKA hamburgers.
