Oh my god... I did it. I listened to this soundtrack from the movie "Queen of the Damned" and I immediately had to think of Mapleshade. I didn't read the books in which she appears, yet, I just finnished "Twilight" and bought "Sunset" today... so I'm not sure if that's what Mapleshade said.^,^
Anyways, to the scene: It's from The Last Hope, when the Dark-Forest cats finally attack and Mapleshade fights with Sandstorm, pinning her to the ground and growling into her ear, that she had everything Mapleshade ever wanted. A loving mate, kits she could watch grow up and so on... So this kinda explains that the cats on this pic are Mapleshade and Sandstorm I didn't want to draw Sandstorm's face, because I wanted to do a close-up of Mapleshade. Uh...and I didn't make her look down at Sandstorm,... it looked stupid o_o'
I didn't read enough about her, so I'm not sure if I should feel sorry for Mapleshade or just think that she's creepy as hell. As far as I know she had a RiverClan-mate and was exiled for this, her kits drowned in the river and RiverClan chased her out, as well. In the end she died as a rogue and didn't find her way to StarClan, so she stayed in the Dark Forest as one of the oldest cat-spirits there. I wanted to make her look like she's already fading, but it looked strange, so I kept her like this... And I didn't make her sparkle like the StarClan-warriors.
Some people don't get why she didn't go to StarClan, while Ashfur, who nearly killed three of his own Clanmates in a fire, went there. Mapleshade did nothing wrong besides loving a cat from another clan...which nearly EVERY cat in the book does XD Well, in my opinion it didn't depend on WHAT she did wrong, but how she felt about StarClan when she died. I believe that when Mapleshade left her Clan she did it because she loved her mate, who rejected her in the end. She felt betrayed by the one she loved and everyone else as well. So when she was alone she began to feel angry and maybe she started to believe, that StarClan chose this destiny for her, just to make her suffer. She couldn't find her trust in StarClan anymore and got depressed and mad at them. And when she died, she was full of hate, so she couldn't find her way to StarClan and just stayed in the Place Of No Stars, where she planned her revenge on everyone and everything... And this is where I start to think that she's creepy. o__o' I read her warriors.wikia-article and I read about one part where she and the other Dark-Forest warriors plan the final attack. She mentions that they should kill all the kits, so the mothers wouldn't have anything left to fight for. THIS.IS.SO.MEAN!
So...referring to this cruelness and the fact that she's one of the oldest Dark-Forest cats I chose her to be the Queen of the Damned x_x'

I really hope you like it. Next time I'll upload the new comic page and some more pictures for the Let-Her-Go picture-series.^^ I'm not sure if it will be Cinderpelt's death (because I just read this scene) or something else... like Leafpool giving her kits to Squirrelflight. What do you think?^^
