She's a Tabaxi hybrid, born from a Tabaxi and an Elf.
Because of this unusual union, she has features of a Leporidae (rabbit), instead of the usual cat-like features a Tabaxi would have.
Her father left shortly before she was born so she never got to meet him.
After a troubling childhood of feeling outcast, she met a lone monk in the forest near her village and trained with him for years until she was deemed strong enough to take care of herself.
After that she set out to explore the world and it's many mysteries, while trying to find out where her father went.
With her skills as a monk, she helps out wherever she can, but her appearance makes her shun the presence of others as it draws attention, sometimes unwanted.
