I don't like Lizzy. To put it more simply, I detest her. Ciel would probably think the same if they weren't destined to be married. In fact, it's not even destiny. It's just required for them. It's a rule of Britain. If it wasn't, I think Ciel wouldn't love her. I don't even think he loves her now. But it's good art I'll give you that.

I dont mean to change your opinion, but I do believe Ciel does show a little form of affection towards her. Although not in a very romantic way, I think Ciel cares for Elizabeth. I mean, he may not fully understand, but Lizzie always tried to make him smile; although usually in the end she angered him. Chapter 14 and episode 10 showed hints of it.
Anyway, Ciel's a dark kid. He would need some light (like Lizzie; the happy kid) sooner or later.
He likes her, he cares about her, she's quite important for him, however I don't think he loves her. And again, I think he doesn't really care about marriage now. I can imagine his response to a question about marriage - in my opinion it would be something like "I have more important things to do now" ; )

I do appreciate hearing your opinion. And yes, I believe most of that might be true. You give a good point. I'm sure he doesn't hate her but I don't think he loves her. They'd be alright as friends. Not in the 'soon-to-be-married' category. If I had to choose a "partner" (if you know what I mean) for the young master, I'd actually say Sebastian. I am not exactly what you'd call a Yaoi fan but it just seems more appropriate considering all of the fan service they portray in this anime. My apologies for such a long comment.

Thank you, Im glad you understand me (:. And I understand your opinion, and I know what I say is basically useless banter and will never change your mind, but I think all that fanservice was just to draw yaoi fangirls in. (Im not grouping all of the fangirls together, just the obvious ones.) But did you see the 3rd episode where he waltzed with elizibeth? And lets not forget all those happy moments with her and Ceil, shall we? Like all those cute winter episodes. I think when Ceil gets older he may like her back. Or meybe thats just a lie and its never going to happen :I. I dont know frankly.
I suppose Sebastian and Ceil would be the first thought pairing, becuase of everthing that goes on behind

I just thought Ciel and Sebastian have a more obvious love. All the fanservice and much of the things they say to each other that seems like signs of affection. Another thing as well... if you have read the second manga, Sebastian describes his job as a butler. A Phantomhive butler for that matter. And when he does, he shows signs that he doesn't care much for the servants. Later on, Sebastian prepares for a special event by making a giant chocolate sculpture but then the master eats the head of that sculpture. When Sebastian finds out he did so, the young lord was asleep in his chair with the head half eaten on the desk. Sebastian does get a little frustrated but then explains that his job as a butler is not half bad and reflects on the things he loves about being a butler INCLUDING seeing the young master asleep. I think he thinks he is adorable. :} My apologies for the long comment.
