Description I don't often do fanart, but since I love the Jak gams almost as much as I love the Baldurs Gate games, I just kind of couldn't help myself...

I like Ashelin - I think her character design is awesome. Last night I was playing Jak X, and for some reason I just wondered what she may look like if she was less 'cartoony', so I me-ified her (since my style is a realism / cartoon hybrid, there ain't that much of a change!! Well, she has a proper nose now... ummm... yeah!). I decided to go with her Krimzon Guard look, though, 'cos I really like it ... I've been itching to draw those facial tattoos for ages!

Her neck looks funky, and not in a good way....

Scrappily coloured in coloured pencils (the light in my living room is crap... It's only when I scan these in do I realise just how scrappy my colouring is!) - took about 5 hours? I dunno. About that, give or take. I watched Heathers, 2 episodes of Faith in the Future (ummm, ancient UK sitcom on ITV3...), some of the news, made tea and ate that and then finished off during Casualty. Does that work out at about 5 hours?!

Ashelin belongs to Naughty Dog and features in Jak 2, 3 and X.

This is a beautiful portrait of this character! I love that hair, her serious facial expression and the cleavage part of her boobs.

Dearie me, I'm just getting around to looking at your gallery now. Outstanding work, especially on the eyes. Just because the Dodge brush can be abused doesnt' mean it also can't be used effectively! Those eyes just glow! I love them!

There is a problem with the neck. The collar bones are too high up and at too steep an angle. This is why her neck looks... truncated. I know this is an older pic, but if you want to see a redline I'm happy to do one for you.

Lovely bright colors as usual, and the dreadlocks are just so fun!

Oh wow, one of the best Jak fan arts I've seen to date. Your gallery is impressive, I saw some of your stuff on the TR forums and wanted to see more. Very good work.

Yeah. I love these games, (Sig's my favorite) and this pic wouldn't look out of place in them. Oh, and next time, try drawing Daxter! There's not enough fan art of him.

I don't play the Jax games (aside from a demo once) but I do love the character designs. I managed a peek at this character too and it's neat seeing her done in your style. Her BRIGHT green eyes look awesome, and I love the dreads...and of course the tatts, we can't forget those!

Gah though, I don't know how you manage to complete so much art with your busy schedule. I haven't finished anything in ages!

Oh, a-yuh! Actually, this time I'm not exaggerating - the character has an absolutely top-notch rack It's a good old excuse! (The Jak games are just too funny - okay, the first one is sweet and is just a kiddie game, but the others are very amusing indeed. The amount of knowing innuendo they manage to pack into a game that was initially aimed at kids is just too funny! I mean... one character asking if they want to go for a 'bush-bash' (a race through the jungle) in Jak X?? PLEASE!! )

I was a little naughty on her eyes - just before I posted this, I 'dodged' them slightly to make them pop out a bit more. Well, you've got to use all the tools at your disposal...

(Heh, as for time... I have no idea. I only draw at weekends now, and so I tend to become this super-concentrating arty-type for a few hours. That and I'm waiting for the latest installment for Fade to be coded up, so I'm not writing much atm. I have about 5 squinchillion digital pieces I want to finish, but that's too time consuming... pencils so much more 'now' for me! )

That has to be the most gorgeous realistic Ashelin I have seen! This is just amazing. The coloring and everything is just great! I love the Jak series, and the Jak girls. This is definatly going onto my favs. Amazing work.

Thank you very much! I do adore Ashelin (after Sig and Torn, of course! ) - I think her character design is possibly my favourite of all the characters. Even her static concept pic radiates attitude! It really was too good an opportunity to resist...

your technique with coloured pencils is fabulous! do you think you could make a short tutorial on some easy techniques? i'm always looking to improve, and oyu seem like you might be able to show me and teach me quite a bit! ^_^

I think it was from the original reference I took - the posewas slightly different and I changed it mid-way, forgetting to lengthen her neck! D'oh!

Ohh she's neat looking! I haven't gotten very far in the Jak games, unfortunately, but this gives me the urge to continue! She's awesome looking! I love the hair color, the tatts, and the ear shape! (of course I'm not biased>_>

I looove the Jak games (even if the second one is quite, quite difficult at times...) and Ashelin is just such a great character!
