Hurrr... He's offerin' yoo beadz... XDI am INSANELY excited about Mardi Gras this year. XD I'd never really given it a second thought before, but the combination of starting French classes and discovering the awesomeness of Clopin has made me uber excited. X3 I'm making some King's Cake next weekend. XDDDD
As for the picture itself, I think I kinda went a little crazy. o_O; I mean, most of the Mardi Gras costumes that I've seen are completely insane as well, but I think I didn't do as well on the color scheme as I could have. The black-and-white seem a little odd, and I probably should have made the other side of his torso a color other than yellow... XP I also think I should have reversed the green and purple on his mask... Maybe that's just me being anal, though. But you guys be sure to tell me what you think.
...And I put his thumbs on the correct side this time... LOL! XD

I never really gave any thoughts about French other thn the fact that the art and architecture is awesome. But after watching and reading HoND, well, needless to say 
I was at a really trippy store where tye were selling Mardi Gras masks, and I saw one that looked EXACTLY like Clopin's.

I'm in love. *purr* I LOVE the way his right hand turned out, and I love that on his right hand the finger tips are black-white-white-black and on the left hand they're in reverse! Great touch. I also like that his mask moves with his expression, enhancing it, like in comics!

Mardi Gras is a huge celebration the day before Lent starts. During Lent, most people (er, not sure if this is confined to Catholicism or what... Not a big religious person, me. XP) give up meat or some other kind of food that they really like. It's supposed to absolve them of sin or something like that... Anyway, Mardi Gras is when they stuff themselves as full of food as they can get before they go off it. X3 And there's lots of partying and celebrations and everything. It's pretty groovy. ;D
