This is but a preview of things to come! I'm so satisfied by the way the colouring is going that I decided to post a little picture of the head. Did you know that the Alien Giger designed originally had eyes? And that it's got a clear dome with a skull underneath it? You can hardly see it in the film though. They removed the dome in Aliens to make it even more frigthening - alas, the birth of the Warrior Alien. Looks closely and you'll see the skull in my version!

There is also another reason: I need critique is you can spare me any. On what I need it on I don't know - or perhaps the shine and the drool? If you've got any good ideas let me know! If not, I'll just keep on with what I'm doing.

Ah! I've used two gradient layers on this on to achieve a slightly spookier shading. If anybody's got any good suggestions on "How to Avoid Gradient Layers" I would appreciate them alot!

its amazing but around the mouth instead of using what you did giv it mor room to open its mouth or am i looking at the xenomorph the wrong way

the dome could use a bit of dirtying up, so it doent look like a see through mouild. maby a scar or something?

actually the original "alien" had a giant male genital for a head.... sorry im a huge giger fan, it looks awesome what did you use to make it? bamtastic! wish i could make stuff like that

I've been drawing them for years and you can see the lineart here . For the colouring I'm using Photoshop Elements 2. I'm glad you like it!

I've got the book regarding the alien film with early art in it. It has a landscape filled with penises! lol!

hahaha, yeah im a huge giger fan and most of his artworks, sketches and designs involve peises, vagina's and almost continual emphasis' on sexual elements.... that lineart is fantastic! you are absolutely brilliant!

Actually it's a slight hybrid of the one in Alien and the warriors in Aliens. I've used the body composition of the warriors (the lineart should show you that... )and the head of the one from Alien... The one in Alien3 isn't that different, but it has more lips and it's a little bit more rounded on the head...

the drawl on yours looks a little off though, but i don't have a comment on how to improve it though sorry...

no the colouring is great even though you messed it up, it actually looks like one of the Runners (Alien3) and it's the right colour.

As for the drawl i'd look at a thick liquid and water since that's what the drawl's like

I vote make the shine in the drool a bit brighter. the image of the skull is just sickeningly sweet, so you gotta keep that. there's really nothing more i can critique. this is beautiful all round!

You know this one actually has gotten me more hooked on the than before!! I'm very happy with the colouring for a change - it looks nice. It's weird, I know, but I can't help staring at it. It's like I'm looking at someone else's art - I feel like a different person when creating art contra viewing my own!

The one I'm actually colouring (this is only a detail of the sketch of the other alien ) is lighter than this one and the green shine is only made for this one too. For the background I'm thinking some Giger inspired landscape or an alien egg!
