Description "Sometimes, he'd ask me to accompany him to some inspection. He didn't like focusing on numbers and figures - he liked to watch the pony he was talking to."
"Watch them?"
"I think he just wanted to make sure they weren't skewing facts or trying to sell him their story. Or maybe he wanted to be able to catch something to use later. I don't know, I was just a secretary. But I knew how he liked his lists made."

Commissioned by SilasShield-Wing , featuring his OC .

Technical
Still image created with inkscape .
The animations were made and exported with aniGen .

I caught some interesting bugs with rendering nested transformations. Or rather, did not catch. I have to add them to the list for 0.7.6, not that anyone cares. I'm also working on a small library of background characters to help create livelier pictures.

I am still amazed that you're doing all of this in Inkscape.
I'm still trying to learn easier ways to do my vectors here XD

Inkscape is a very versatile program, and a lot of it comes down to practice.

The aspect ratio wouldn't fit, I'm afraid. Other than that, it'd just be a question of exporting the picture and making it into video. Which is what I do for my tumblr anyway. (I haven't added the latest picture yet.)

GG on carrying almost 2-7K pounds on your back XD, it takes almost 10 people to do that.

Joking aside there is much "Navy" pony related stuff, america or other wise, almost tempted to try an get my captain and ship ponified XD

MisterAibo In reply to NavyBr0wnie [2016-11-11 16:21:56 +0000 UTC]

I was going to make my comment about "as strong as a horse", but I found the carry weight of a horse is about 20% of their own mass, so you'd probably still need at least eight horses to do that anyway. Truth be told, I wanted to have two ponies carrying a big box, but it looked bad, so I opted for a single pony carrying something. I already had "nondescript white bundles" with the pegasus, and smaller box with the pony in far back, so shells were kinda my go-to. I guess I should have done more research. Or maybe I'm implying this pony is insanely strong. Maybe it's his special talent.

I'm definitely not an expert on ships, but I've done a ponyfication or two in my days, so feel free to come to me if you feel like going with it.

Oh how I love seeing every new thing you create! I'd would love to see some sound tossed into these! I'm sure a hundred people would volunteer to help with that myself included.

MisterAibo In reply to VinnyMartello [2016-11-11 16:14:34 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. But you know, GIFs don't really carry sound that well, and I don't work with flash on principle. I could link to a video version with sound, I suppose, but then the problem is most of the time, ponies actually talk in my pictures. If a loop only lasts ten to twenty seconds, they couldn't be saying anything meaningful without highlighting the looping way too much. Plus, hiring voice actors would drive costs up, and actually lip-syncing takes an awful amount of time. Background sounds are less of a problem, even though I'm not that experienced with sound design. I'll think about it for some future commission, but it'd be a fairly long loop without focused character talking.

In my personal experience, lip syncing is one of the easiest things you can do in animation. I guess it depends upon how detailed you want to be though. But hey, you're the boss of your own work! These are merely my opinions. If you ever wanted a voice actor I would volunteer - not ask for money. I enjoy it!

MisterAibo In reply to VinnyMartello [2016-11-11 18:56:20 +0000 UTC]

Well, it's not hard per se, but it's just another thing to keep in mind. Like I said, the short loop would be a bigger problem. Nobody wants to hear the equivalent of three sentences over and over - it'd make the image sound like a day in a bad RPG. But hey, if you can provide good quality audio and have a decent voice, I might call you up one day for some project.

Sure! Audacity is a free software program that does surprisingly well. I also have a lovely little studio mic. And I see you're doing some military themed pony stuff. I am a songwriter and musician and I have a couple tribute songs that would knock your socks off! I will re-record one of them to brush it up and send it to you're if interested.

Thanks, although I don't exactly specialize in battleships, pulp art, or anything like that. I like some of the aesthetics, but I don't really get commissioned to make pictures like that.

Nice looking Battleship. Looks like it could be German.. wonder what class is she.. Scharnhorst... Bismarck..... Gnneissanau.... xD just beautiful ships... And how in Equestria is that one pony carrying those two shells.. O_o those things are incredibly heavy xD

MisterAibo In reply to WorldofTanks [2016-11-11 04:34:47 +0000 UTC]

It's Bismarck class - actually, it's made off the titular battleship herself.

And, well, the pony is probably really strong. Maybe even as strong as a horse.
