Description
It's that moment when you're in a room full of people...the conversation around you is boring and you just wanna go the hell home. Then suddenly, the room goes silent...
"Excuse me for interrupting, but may I have this dance?" she asked, her chrome-colored eyes reading shy, but the tone of her voice saying confident and composed. She was probably feeling awkward, wearing a silvery-blue dress that was far more revealing for the women of their time, but the beautiful metal-bender was soft; dream-like...but not like one of those corny princesses in a fairy tale.
"Lani, is that you?" asked Asami, the young lady who had organized the gala, feeling very under-dressed at the moment. The metal-bender, not taking her eyes away from him, nodded, her usually wayward curly hair had been straightened and curled again, giving an air of composure and gentle control.
"Lani?" asked Mako, his mouth dropping. Korra, the Avatar was rendered confused. Lani smiled, keeping her eyes fixed on whom she intended.
"May I have this dance?"
"It would be an honor, Irulan," said Bolin, gently taking her hand, completely mesmerized at how much effort she had put into that night. She was absolutely stunning, more than words could ever describe. Breathless and blushing, he led them to the dance floor.
'Moments in time don't always need a narrative; sometimes, it's just best to live in them, enjoy them...allow yourself to enjoy these moments, this short time,' Princess Fox had told her.
No one else mattered...Irulan didn't give a damn about the buzz and whispers about the risque nature of her gown, or the question of how the maker of the metal parts for Satomobiles, who also spearheaded the construction of the the new buildings and bridges, could be be so light on her feet.
"You...you are so...pretty, Irulan," Bolin whispered, his heart about the burst from his chest.Holding her so close, the memories of their lovemaking rode through his mind like ribbons. She was so unexpected...but yet so welcome. Smiling, Irulan raised on her tiptoes, placing a tender kiss to his lips.
"Whoa!" said Avatar Korra almost spilling her punch on Asami's dress. "Who is that...?"
'Why do you care?' Mako wanted to ask, not realizing that he'd been staring at Irulan since she'd walked through the double doors. Asami, a little pissy because she was not the center of attention, cleared her throat, raising her glass of punch to her lips.
"She works for the city...and my father's company. She cleans up nicely, wouldn't you say...Mako?" Asami asked with a snide tone.
Mako didn't mean to ignore Asami, but seeing his brother so happy; so contented ...made him slightly question...and slightly jealous.
