Today it's Cinderella!

It is not one of my favorite princesses but I hope not to disappoint you with my vision of the Real Jewels Dress Edition.

Cinderella is a character from a fairy tale of which there are several versions, both oral and written, in Europe. The best known version is the French from Charles Perrault (Cendrillon ou La petite pantoufle de verre), who wrote a version of oral history in 1697. In Germany, however, the collection of fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm is by far the most popular. The 1812 version of the Brothers Grimm however varies in many details of the French, which is not surprising if one considers that each European country has its own character oral tradition. Disney made in 1950 a version of Cinderella, which is closer to that of Perrault which the Brothers Grimm, reason why in America is this the best known.

The Cinderella archetype, like many other fairy tales, has a great history. It is so the first traces are found in the ancient Egyptians (Rhodopis), then the Romans, the Chinese Empire from the ninth century (which is a legacy even today the small foot of Cinderella) and Persia in late XII century, especially in the Seven Beauties Nezami. It is amazing that even among Native Americans is the reason for Cinderella.

Although best known story of Cinderella was written in the XVII century, Disney chose to set it in the XIX century, so I have drawn on a range of costume and jewelry more modern for this new edition of the royal jewels.

Hoy toca Cenicienta!!!

No es una de mis princesas favoritas, pero espero no decepcionaros con mi visión de las Joyas Reales Dress Edition.

La Cenicienta es un personaje de un cuento de hadas del cual existen varias versiones, tanto orales como escritas, en Europa. Las versiones más conocidas son las del francés Charles Perrault (Cendrillon ou La petite pantoufle de verre), el cual escribió una versión de la historia oral en 1697. En Alemania, en cambio, la colección de cuentos de hadas de los Hermanos Grimm es hasta ahora la más popular. La versión del año 1812 de los Hermanos Grimm varía sin embargo en muchos detalles de la francesa, lo cual no es extraño si se toma en cuenta que cada país europeo tiene su propia tradición oral del personaje. Disney realizó una versión en 1950 de la Cenicienta, la cual se asemeja más a la de Perrault que a la de los Hermanos Grimm, razón por la cual en América es esta la más conocida.

El arquetipo Cenicienta, al igual que muchos otros cuentos de hadas, tiene una gran historia. Es así que se encuentran los primeros rastros en los antiguos egipcios (Rhodopis), luego entre los romanos, en el Imperio Chino del siglo IX (del que queda como legado aún hoy en día el pequeño pie de Cenicienta) y en Persia a fines del siglo XII, en especial en las Siete Bellezas de Nezāmī. Es asombroso que inclusive entre los indígenas de Norteamérica se encuentra el motivo de Cenicienta.

Aunque la historia más conocida de la Cenicienta fue escrita en el siglo XVII, Disney optó por ambientarla en el siglo XIX, así que yo me he basado en una gama de joyas y vestuario más modernos para esta nueva edición de las Joyas Reales.
