I just rewatched Axis Powers and nearly fell out of my chair realizing how everyone looks different in the pilot. But your right, Sweden does make a cute brunette.

The main characters don't really chance, while everone else were honestly more attractive in the pilot - not that they aren't later on in the series

Yeah.
I also find it kind of ironic that this is the first designs of the characters and that it's actually how they look AFTER everything in the show (2nd World War and such).
