It was great for sure. Though I was expecting more of a horror movie, it delivered as a very exciting action movie. Definitely lived up to the hype for me.

It was probably constantly seeing it on the 'scariest movies in history' lists. xD That freaking mechanical shark... That'd be impressive today! I imagine they'd think it was real way back almost 40 years ago. xD Also, how in the living hell is that movie rated PG???

i'd say its brilliant and classic you know? and that shark honest to god looks more real than any cgi bullshit they would of thrown at us today. i liked that shark because it was a physical thing, and you could tell ya know? i was always fascinated with the fact that there was a giant killer great white shark on the loose and it wasn't animated.
I HAVE NO FREAKING CLUE MAN. it needs to be pg-13 in my opinion. XD

Exactly! That's one of the reasons I enjoyed it so much. Absolutely ground-breaking effects.

I saw the PG rating and I was like; "Wait wha???" Then in the very opening scene with the naked hippie getting thrashed around, I knew something was up. xD Then of course when Quint was eaten... xD PG-13 seems suitable. I think it would even quality for an R!

YES I KNOW. the PG rating threw everyone off i think. and the weird thing in that opening scene is... when they do that camera angle under water aiming up at her, you actually really can see "everything" if you know what i mean. sure its dim so they kinda got away with it.
quint is my favorite character. god i loved him so much, but i can't help but think it was the most awesome/terrifying/realistic/blood curdling thing when we see him get devoured. which is why i had to make this a tattoo on alex's arm, also cause alex likes scary movies. p:

Definitely. It's a shame Quint had to die. They were all three absolutely solid characters. But then again, we wouldn't have gotten to see the kick-ass roboshark in action as much had he lived, so...

yes. quint was so awesome. i love the scene where quint tells hooper to do something and hooper replies to him "AI CAPTAIN AAARRRRAARRR!" fucking laughed my ass off. XD
