Description From the Sorcerers Apprentice Universe.  One of many new doodles, but I so enjoyed the way this came out I just had to post it early.


I imagine young Yen-Sid would get along well with Roland.  In fact, between Yen-sid's curiosity and Roland's woodland know-how, I imagine there's all kinds of trouble they could get into (including a run in with notorious Mad Madam Mim).  I also somehow imagine Rumple would be the one to rescue his adventurous son.  


It's the kind of scenario that inevitably concludes in the famous "Do you know what your son did today..." dinner conversation opener.

 If Roland inherited any of his father's wits, or perhaps both his parents' noble bearing, he'll be worried about Yen Sid and him getting into trouble.  Of course, if you mess with a youngling dragon, you risk the wrath of the dragon lord.   I'm cackling at the idea of how Rumpel would put Mim in her place, though probably not as artfully as the germ trick and the sunshine.  If you've seen Sword in the Stone, you'll know what I'm talking about.

me too, Dearie.  He was already a great papa with Baelfire (I don't know too many people who would mutilate their own bodies beyond repair just so they could be there for their children.), but he certainly messed up on the "sacrificing everything he held dear for magic" bit.  However, having a bairn or two with magical powers like himself… that will be a handful, but being part-child himself (or maybe that's just the Dark One's spirit talking), I'm sure he'd be wonderful!

I'm just imagining Smaug gazing at the "unfortunate AND stupid" halfling who tried to steal the Arkenstone... or else of Sherlock when he came to John's defense at that abandoned pool pavilion in "The Great Game".
