Description Series of Neo Digi Ukiyoe. 2007.

Kirin is a holy animal from China. "Ki" is male and "Rin" is female. It is said that it also appears as an auspicious sign. Very gentle and kind, Kirin is even afraid of stepping on insects or plants under the feet.

Looks great. I love the girl's clothing. The flowing dress, intricate shirt, and silky veil hanging off of her head. I love how the Kirin looks, how it has a wood cut look to it. The Kirin's vivid shading outlining it seems out of place for an image that has smooth and gentle coloring throughout. The dragon is drawn very well, and the clouds shade him very well. But his leg, in the lower left corner, is almost lost in the pattern of his scales. The background looks very good. I love the swirling clouds and their varying colors. But I don't understand the swirls in the blue sky. Is that the wind?
