Description Thundercats HOOOOOOO!

So a certain cartoon series from the eighties that, as a kid I watched TO DEATH, is now being remade and is premiering on Cartoon Network. The teasers are promising some very sweet animation, and I can only hope they deliver.

Ah, the memories... As a kid Mirror and I loved the kittens, WilyKit and WilyKat. When CN got the rights to the show and showed again when we were teenagers, we once more watched the series to death (our entire high school did, one girl took the phrase "Shnarf!" as her new catch phrase) we switched sides and fell for the tigers, Tygra and later Bengali (... I think that was his name...).

The series was campy, lesson-of-the-day, preachy, everything that we hate nowadays, but we just smile at the thought of that old cartoon and all the Saturday mornings spent watching it, or Da renting the VHS of it.

I had to pay tribute.

Er, and watch the remake tonight.

Oh, I never heard of a remake! I don't think I ever watched this much when it was first out (I was totally a He-Man/She-Ra/Voltron kid) but I do remember watching it on Cartoon Network in college when I watched that channel constantly, heheh. I hope it'll be a good one...

Oh my gawd, I remember She-Ra, we had a little action figure of her for the longest time; and we also had the Voltron castle long after we'd forgotten what the show even was. Wow, the nostalgia...

The premiere looked really good. I was terrified the the quality animation they were promising wouldn't be delivered but it was. And as a great little easter egg the father was voiced by the original Lion-O. Where the heck did the producers dig him up? Mirror and I giggled like little girls when we realized where we recognized the voice...

Hehe, yeah, I had little action figures of She-Ra and Voltron, and a light-up He-Man sword when I was five or six. That's cool about the voice actor! I wonder what else they're going to start bringing back now that the kids who watched this stuff grew up and got into the business...
