This episode didn't feel like much, but the things it did were monumental in the greater scope of SW lore: Mon Mothma gives a great rallying cry and the formal Rebellion is formed. It's amazing. Mon was a favorite of mine in the original trilogy, her hair was the same kind of dark read as mine - and the level of identification was always a little bigger than the other "one-off" leaders that showed up like Dodon.. Donod... the guy from ep 4 or Wedge or Biggs. Seeing her here, exhausted after trying to fight in the system and finally bucking the system, is a sight to behold. Also, the COLOR of this episode! The nebula was freaking beautiful, and I wish I had captured it accurately.
The piece itself is - because of life - a bit of a rush job. I didn't even start this until Wednesday, which is insane, and the more obvious mistakes are from feeling the pressure to finish in half a week. Mon's shoulders are off by a lot, her nose isn't the right shape, the nebula is a little too simplistic, and the arch of the Ghost view portal is tacked on and doesn't even look right. I feel like I could have done a different technique with the nebula to make it look better, and the shoulders should have been erased and redone until they looked right before I started painting...
I do like Mon's hair, though, it almost looks like Sabine...

I cried watching the end of this episode, due to the enormity and significance of the events depicted. I had been waiting for years for something like this to happen in the show, and Mothma's rallying cry was nearly perfect
I like your drawing because despite everything, she still looks sad. The prospect of armed conflict is not a good thing, she knows it, and taking that decision must have been incredibly hard. And, I must say, the shoulders contribute to this feeling. They show her posture as a bit slumped, not proud, like if she was thinking about that failure of diplomacy and the peaceful methods she believed in. Also, given that the Ghost is still next to the nebula, she could also be worried that the Empire is going to capture her. Everything adds up to this moment of vulnerability.
BTW, I'm planning on creating a piece of fanart from this episode too, but focused on the fight between the TIE Defender and the two Y-wings in the nebula. We'll see how that goes…

I forgot to mention that my piece will be a 3D render using models for the ships already done by other people, so there won't be a lot of effort on my part, there :S
BUT… I am also in the process of drawing by hand the Ravager falling down on Jakku, and that's a whole Super Star Destroyer of mechanical details… xDDDDD
