Description
Sooo I was on the phone with Creep.
And I was all "I wanna draw something, but I dunno what."
So Creep told me to draw a creature of some sort.
Anddd I agreed.
So from there, we both started thinkin up details for this creature.
And I did looots of doodles of ideas.

And this is the final form I decided on for the "Ohmnaum" as we called it.

And I love it.
A lot.
I'm almost tempted to make this my new fursona, or at least one of them.
If Creep likes the creature form as much as I do, I'll probably color one for him and they can be our own little creature-sonas.

Anyway.
This thing is called the Ohmnaum (yes, sounds like omnom), because it can eat nearly anything.
It has a thumb so it can grab things, and a long, strong, flexible tongue like an anteaters, to get food out of small places.
Those spikes on it's back is actually it's spine, grown through it's skin, but also a defense weapon. As shown in the image, when it gets scared/threatened/mad, it will flip it's ears backward and form somewhat of a shell, with just enough space for the spikes to pop through.
The brown spots are actually very strong scales, somewhat like an armadillo's, so the scales on it's ears will protect it's body, while the spikes will give an unpleasant surprise to anything that pounces on it.
It has scales on it's face and legs for protection, too.
Also shown above, when scared/threatened/mad, it can puff up it's tail to over twice the normal size, almost as big as it's body, to give it a bigger, more threatening look.

The Ohmnaum is about the size of a Chinchilla, and it's movement is somewhere between a lizard's movement, and a ferret's.
Even though it eats nearly everything, it's favorite treat is poptarts.
Unfortunately, Ohmnaums live in the Amazon forest, so it's hard to find poptarts there.

I think thats all for now, I'll write more about them later but right now I gotta get to bed.

Everything about this creature is based off real animals.
It's size is based off a Chinchilla.
The scales and face are based off an armadillo.
The big ears are based of a bat (I can't remember what kind has the big ears).
It's basic body structure/movement is based off a lizard or ferret.
It's tail is based of a fennec fox. (Besides the fact that I don't think a fox's tail can puff up that huge.)
It's feeties are based off a rat.
Anddd I think thats about it.

ALSO
In this ref you can only see sharp teeth, but it has molars too. The Ohmnaum is an omnivore, so it has sharp teeth for cutting/ripping/killing, but also has molars for grinding up vegetation and whatnot.
