Another battle won, minimal scars was the only price to pay. Safety for a friend, really, more of a kid. Tenshi was a dedicated, strong fighting pitbull but even he had a weak spot. His heart. Not all of the fighters here were cold, merciless killers--at one point or another they had all cared about something else aside from themselves. He lived to see another day, even if his opponent wasn't as fortunate. He turned his heavy, throbbing head to his side, feeling some warmth. He looked to the little umber furball curled up closely against his side, her bones visible even under her much thicker fur. He felt a pang of pity and deep pain for this young pup. "So young.. even I didn't have the misfortune of being through into the ring at such a young age. She's no older than two or three years." He sighed softly, glancing back further to see the monsters in their hiding. Gnashing their teeth at their bars and walls. There and then he decided, gazing back to the pup with a smile, "I swear on my life, pup, I will protect you so long as I live..." His voice drifted off but the pup did not stir. 'If only I could protect your forever..'

So, I'm not sure what inspired me to want to do this exact image. I think I just wanted a better image of Tenshi. So I did, no references used - woah. XD All of it was straight from scratch, I think I go most of the bone placements correct, as well as Tenshi's face. Poor Derana, she looks starved, and Tenshi as well. But such is the life of a pit-dog. Dog fighting is so wrong, I absolutely hate it, its so barbaric. :< Those poor animals.

I did a lot of random shading in this. But I don't like everything about it because towards the end I began to get lazy. But please do tell me what you think of it.
