Wonderful resource ~ I think it was made by the actual Repo! costume designer. I just watched the movie a ba-zillion times and looked at these pictures to see how it looked. I hope the link works... sure repo on photobucket if it doesn't.
I made a movie accurate scrub shirt and pants as well. The boots are the same as the ones Tony wears in the movie (I can't remember their name.. I believe they were Demonia Predators). The hardest part was the mask and I'm planning on redoing it because 1) You cant breath in it and 2) people can't hear you at all, even if you yell... The lights are LED hooked up to batteries, pretty easy... You can get them at Autozone and the bits to hook them to the batteries at Radio shack. I'd ask them how to wire it, I actually had my friend do it (big mistake too, it blew up at con and gave him a 3rd degree burn on his hand, lol).
As to the coat... I started out with the pattern for the Matrix coat. I can't remember which company makes it... Simplicity I think (you can get it at Joanns). I ended up just making my own though... sewing pieces together because they looked right, I hate dealing with patterns. I got an old bed sheet at goodwill that was the right color for the lining on the inside of the front flaps. I used dog collar buckles because I couldn't find any at the craft stores that fit. Hmm, what else... the rivets WERE THE HARDEST THING TO FIND! It was ridiculous! I can't count how many leather working stores I went to only to find they didn't sell them anymore. I did end up finding some at the Tandy Leather shop (which is a chain I believe and they also have a website). The medium length ones worked the best with the materials I was working with. The rivets themselves are really easy to use - set up the anvil they come with (anvil meaning a 2 inch steel rod and a round coin like piece) and hammer it down a few times. Not too many or too hard, the tops will crinkle if you do.
Overall, I'd say that the costume wasn't that hard to make but it was very expensive. The paintball mask that you use as a base for the helmet cost almost 50 dollars alone. I used real leather for the coat - it looks so much better then the vinyl and its pretty much indestructible. With the vinyl I've heard a lot about cracking and fading too. But I'm sure if you got good vinyl and took care of it, it would do fine.
