I do. But no way you can bring a sailboat in here. This is deep wilderness very far from anywhere.
Only way in is by canoe. Across lots of crazy portages.

Yes - I carry it on my shoulders - only weighs 45 lbs. It's a Souris River 16 ft prospector made in Northern Ontario. Kevlar ultra light.

Oh yes much lighter than wood. And if i'm solo I can easily carry my pack at the same time as the canoe and make the portage in one carry. The only lighter model is made of carbon fibre. Those are super expensive though and I'm not sure how good they would be in a big wind.

Have an Anchor metal V Shape....can throw out to your destination and pull yourself.. To anchor...
Pull it up and throw it again to your camp site..
Its work but it works....a Small 10 20lb anchor will get you back in heavy winds

haha thats a cool idea! Thanks for the tip. On bad wind days I usually just get some rocks into the front of the canoe and that does the trick.

It has been many years, since I have been in a boat or canoe, but I really like to be in both of those   And I like lakes and nature.  And I also like to walk in forests.

I heard that Finland also likes canoes! Our countries are so similar! I am happy you also love to hike and canoe - it is good to be out in nature!  Good for the body and soul!

when the lake, and the air above the lake get blurred into some amalgam of wet.. oddly love that state of affairs.. when I have somewhere dry to escape to, anyhow.
