wow despite having such dark colors this really thought my eye right away. I can tell there a story with this drawing, which i would live to hear.
who are these charters.is this a shot from your own working novel?
so i get that he's a spy, but why? maybe it would help to add just a tiny bet more filler under comments explaining the back story, for those of us that are new to your work.
just a thought, it would make it easier to fowlle the characters and under what we are seeing here.

Yes, these are characters from my own personal project and concept. Javan is the black lab on the left by the desk while Aden is the arctic fox up front, trying to hide.
The thing is that this concept is still in the early developing part. I don't have a specific story/lines/explanation for this picture yet. All I know is my idea around the concept and using sketches and drawings to figure out what I can place in the story. This scene will eventually be written, but for now I have nothing. I don't know why Aden was there, I don't know what papers he was looking for, and I don't even know if I want Javan to be the one walking in there or not (Javan is just the only character on that side that I have a design for).
Trust me, when I get the story up and going I will put in more detailed descriptions, but it's hard when I myself have barely half a clue to what is going on.Β
I am working on this concept as much as I can and I'm trying to come up with a decent plot around my idea and how to build up the world he lives in as I'm making everything from scratch, including the world, climate, religion, history and partly an ancient language. This is as much of a teaser for you as it is for me...

I know I've already commented on this, but figured I'd give this a shot. As I've stated below, this piece shows great intensity of the situation. The griminess and dankness makes it atmosphere of the piece more realistic and emotional. I especially love the shadowing. I believe your vision for this piece was well executed. It almost seems as if Aden was almost caught in the act, hence why he looks as if he's in a panicked state. As a spy, he does not wish to be caught and if he tries to escape, he just might. Wonderful work overall.

You've done well to capture an intense mood here by use of the shadows and minimal lighting. The character in the foreground though is utterly perfect! His expression, body positioning and lighting all make him a very intriguing character that actually make me want to know more about what's happening in this piece but with that said, the perspective is definitely lacking here. I believe the problem lies in the wall behind the second character. I can't put my finger on what it is exactly but something is definitely off with the line up of the furniture.Β
With that said though, once again, you've done an outstanding job here and the splotchy marks on the walls are an outstanding touch. A possible way of correcting this problem though is to find a similar wall in your own home and observe the differences. Take a photo and study it a bit if you have to cause if you can correct that, this is a near perfect piece!

As for what is actually going on... I haven't really gotten that far in the story yet as it's still under development, but the idea is that Aden (the arctic fox hiding closest to us) has forcefully become a spy in a war and isn't really trained at all, so this is just a random scene I've been thinking will have to happen at some point...

Nice dramatic lighting on this one! The texture works quite well too; the gritty feeling really adds an element of drama. The texture of the fur on the face is quite nice as well.Β
As far as critique goes, you might want to pay a bit more attention to your perspective. The angle of the room gives the piece a nice sense of depth, but the dark figure in the background seems super tall for as far back as he is, especially compared to that back wall. Additionally, the front of the desk and the back of the desk seem to be the same height, when the back should be slightly smaller. Same story with the display case. Also, sharpening the contrast between the top and sides of the desk might give it a less blurred feeling. Other than that, though, it looks pretty good. Nice job!
