Hello, I am really admired by your technique .. but you have used drypoint to build on top right?

Thank you! I actually use dry point everywhere on the plate: it gives richness and spontaneity to the drawing.I usually do it fist and than do the etching.(up to 6 stages of etching). If I got it right from my personal studies of a book and a lens , this is how Rembrandt worked on his etchings.

Ah I see.
but then these recordings you do not think printing them on big runs if you use dry-point ...

I,actually, use sand paper to take away the barbs after working with a knife on the plate, this way they do not fold in after printing, and the grooves from the dry point stay in good shape for an edition of 70-100.

. ..Ie remove the beards and make your furrows become a kind of etching?

Exactly. But the lines are much more gentle and livelier.

The more I look at your work (!)....the more I love it all.... I love the way you do those shadings. Much work is in these things. If only I could afford the space (in our house) and the money to have etching possibilities. Thanks for sharing your vision...

Thank you for the kind comments! I have a small portable printing press it does not require a lot of room. You can get a used one for little money on ebay. Everything is not very complicated as it seems. All you need is a very big desire to make etchings and a little money of course

You're welcome. Maybe in the future, when the kids are out of the house.....for the time being I'm hooked to paper and pen.
