Una didn't really care for being ridden - especially by someone else than her handler. So when Quila suggested they'd contribute to the festival by offering free Kukurides for children, Una was heavily aggainst that, and Quila had a hard time getting her to the festival area in the first place. But when they arrived to the town, and young Kuku saw the lights and the festivities, she relaxed a little. I mean, she didn't really like crowds, but the happiness of both people and Kukus all around was kind of infectious. Quila guided her through all the smells and sounds to a more secluded corner, where they finally stopped.
"Look, I know this might be hard for you, but I'm just saying.., wouldn't it be fun to make those smiles you saw even wider, hmm?", Quila said softly as she slid off the saddle and tied Una to a nearby post. The kuku scoffed to herself. 'Yeah, right...'
A few kids had already seen the sign of free rides Quila had attached to the back of her saddle, and had followed the pair. Now they stood a couple of meters away from them, eyes glinting, but not really sure if it was okay to approach. Quila went to talk to them as Una stared the little ones suspiciously, ears back, and tail whipping the air nervously. No way would she let those midgets on her back!
But time went past. Quila just talked to the kids, smiling, probably telling all she knew about Kukus, and how to handle them. She doesn't know that much, Una thought. She did realize now that these were human pups - not fully grown, and little in height, as she had thought first. Pups are... okay I guess, she mused, and now she was even a bit curious. Quila probably saw her Kuku's posture easing up. She said something to the kids, and two of the three ran off, but one was left with the handler. The pair came closer hand in hand, and although Una could sense the excitement of the pup, it remained incredibly calm as it reached out it's hand to the Kuku. Una sniffed at the hand. It smelled like cotton candy, so she licked it gently. The pup giggled.
