Description Left to Right: Wood Elf, Avariel, and Sea Elf

Wood elves are your highly nature-based elves. These guys have a similar relationship to wild elves as moon elves do with sun elves. One is more exclusionary while the other is more amicable with their humanoid neighbors. Unlike their hermit cousins (wild elves), wood elves often help/befriend other humanoid settlements which may crop up near their small kingdoms. Wood elves come in varying society types with some setting up nature-themed kingdoms while others travel as small bands within the forests. They are one of the most diverse and populace of elven subraces, the sun elves being the only ones to rival them in sheer numbers.
Pathfinder 1e: Often possess Fleet-Footed and/or Woodcraft Alternate Racial Traits
5e: Wood Elf

Avarieli are winged elves. Often mistaken for harpies or angels upon first glance, they are actually a type of elf blessed by Aerdrie, elven goddess of the sky and patron goddess of the avarieli. Sadly, most avarieli were wiped off the face of the Earth by chromatic dragons. Now only a few settlements and temples remain, most believing them to be long dead. The largest population of the remaining avarieli are under the domain of a gold dragon who hordes lost/rare cultures, civilizations, and races. Under his watchful eye, he protects them in exchange for them staying in his territory. They are the rarest/least populace subrace of elves.
Pathfinder 1e: Possess Flight racial trait with a flight speed of 50 ft. and average maneuverability. This trait replaces the Elven Magic, Weapon Familiarity, and Low-Light Vision racial traits. (12 RP)
5e: Avarieli (UA)

Sea elves or aquatic elves are elves adapted to life underwater. Almost all aquatic elves have been found to live in the sea with few exceptions. Unlike tritons and merfolk, they did not create elaborate kingdoms under the sea, but rather live a semi-nomadic life, traveling between different small settlements as they search for food and follow specific natural patterns. Like orcas, many sea elves are picky eaters, enjoying only certain types of food, an example being one tribe basing most of their diet off of salmon and the places where salmon migrate. It is theorized that sea elves are actually the most abundant elf subrace in the far North, living all their life under the ice and as such not interacting with the land-dwelling humanoid races in the area.
Pathfinder 1e: Sea Elf Race (Inner Sea World Guide)
5e: Sea Elf (UA, MTF, & EGW)

Please keep in mind this is Kingdoms of Thorn lore, not Forgotten Realms stuff (though highly influenced by it). It's meant to be its own campaign setting based around a bunch of stuff.
