Gubah! I've been busy last two weeks with my new job, but finally my workloadhas gone back to a slow pace again!
So now I've got a little time to spare to play with my lovely copic markers again!
Hehe I ordered a whole bunch of 'Various copic ink' refill, so I've been playing around with that
and trying to imitate a technique that this japanese comic illustrator does with these inks.
It was harder than I thought, even though I read the step by step guide.
Anyway it's my Scorpion boy for :

Oh no! I'm pretty sure I used cardinal red/lipstik red, but I think the color changed when I splattered blender on top.

It depends on what type of marker you have. If you have the normal copic with the broad tip, you just put the tip of the refill bottle on the side of the broad tip, and gradually seep it in from the side (about 2-3ml). Or you can purchase a booster needle, to screw on the refill bottle and insert the needle at the side of the broad tip and inject (note: if you inject too much ink, your marker will leak, my marker kept on dripping when I put too much in).
If you've got like a copic sketch pen where you don't have a broad tip, you need to have a tweezer where you can pull out the brush tip from the root (I've ruined couple of my markers by trying to pull it out with my fingers). Or just be patient and seep ink from the brush tip gradually (but it's a pain in the ass).

yeah, I reckon! I find the 200 cc of colorless blender is handy, cause I use a lot of milky white (E51) as if I'm drinking it, so if I dilute powder pink with the blender, I save more money. It's quite fun mixing your own color aswell. Also I'm in NZ where it's five times more expensive than the original price in Japan (damn it!!!!!) I'm guessing it's because we order from Aussie, then they order from Japan.

(I never knew :sweat: ) I'm in Australia, and I thought we ordered it from America and who had ordered it from Japan...because everything has to go through America first...of course, thems being so great and all. Or it gets shipped from Asian countries. or something like that...
Is milky white good to use for skin? It's been reccomended to me by others, but I always thought it looked a bit dark on the colour chart. And you mix your own colours! I knew that was possible, I just thought it was terrifyingly scary...

Love how the colours manage to look both vibrant, and at the same time softened and wash-out like an old poster. The inks look ace as well, great stuff. Which Japanese illustrator are you emulating? Just out of curiousity.

unnnnnnnnn I can't remeber her name.... If you ever get hold of a book called 'Japanese Comickers -Draw like the hottest manga artists of Japan'(something along that line) she should be on it, and I think it was the one published in 2002.
