Yay! Not quite Red Sonja. I think she's pretty much Red Sonja, hair or not. But she is hotness and I really like her tattoo design. I'd like to see the rest of it.
Now I want a tattoo again. . . .

Your incompatibility with blonds could be a problem. Nevertheless, she's still pretty hot!

Not even a little bit. I would look all kinds of horrible blond.

Mmm metal bikini - clinky.
Love the colours - the red heads look awesome in the snow. I like the tats as well.
I like a bit of Red Sonja too but with more armour than this girl has - also like the cloak.

I think the entire point of Red Sonja was, is and WILL be improbability. I mean, she was a woman warrior in a world of male stereotypes. She was untouchable in a METAL FREAKING BIKINI and she was tough as nails while still being hot as hell.
So, you know, I suspend reality in her case. And this is from someone who sits down and gets into fights about things as stupid as a D&D character that I'm drawing for someone. I stack cloaks, over armor, over padding, over clothes. And then there's the layering of the armor itself. And new designs to make sure you've got problem areas covered while still allowing for maneuverability in combat etc etc etc ad infinitum, ad nauseum (Of course, after I checked, I have no example of that type of neurosis in my gallery. They exist, though, I assure you.)
Anyway, Red Sonja is Red Sonja, though. Suspension of disbelief.
------------
That aside, I'm sorely tempted to upload details from this piece. There's a serious sick amount of detail that was just LOST in the resizing. I mean, her cloak has two rows of stitching. One double and one single, with a cross stitch in between them. There are even little stitches that have come loose and hang off. There's stitching decoration on the boot and scabbard, detailing on the sword... there are scars you just CAN'T make out this small... just all sorts of little details all over the place that don't show up. Meh.

I'd like to see the details if you can be bothered. They sound cool.
As for historical females who fought. A woman was credited with the Wing Chun Kung Fu style - her name well, Wing Chun so the story goes.
Also a Roman/Briton noble woman led a rebellion of the Britons against the Romans. She was a firebrand called Boudicca, formerly better known as Boadicea.
Just off the top of my head - however they were probably nearly dead by the time they were 45 and probably had no teeth and some other nasty diseases.
We don't really hear about the common wenches who picked up farm implements or weapons to defend themselves or go adventuring.
Still, if my bikini was lycra, leather or metal I'd still like to have something more substantial between me and the elements (or implements!).
Did you ever argue encumbrance in D&D - thank you bag of holding!

OK. It was never a matter of encumbrance. It was always one of those things where, well, the armor looked cooler if the guy's ripped midriff was out in the sun, but technically speaking, was entirely retarded, since, well, his midriff was right out there in the sun. I mean, the point of armor then is WHAT thank you very much. Gah.
I'm fully aware there were both historical female warrior figures as well as a (relatively) rich mythos surrounding female warrior and hero figures. I was referring more to the epic and/or cheesy/campy book/novel/comic/movie genres. Think back. Not so much so with the prominent (LONE) woman warrior leads. But still.
And Now I'm sitting here trying to get an image of shiny Lycra under a nifty metal bikini... and that's just -all- different shades of wrong...

Yep - I did know what you mean't it is just the lycra babes have it all over the flea bitten historical harridans when it comes to advertising. I strongly suggest that much stereotyping is a direct result of advertising.
Hmmm - anyway without being indelicate - looking cool and sexy always outweighs practicality in the quest for popularity. If it where not so then there would be no "bounce" control in video games.
