Description This is a picture of me and my friends' group Halloween costume this year. We had a lot of fun working on these costumes! Each of the costumes are hand made/sewn except for Julie's costume, Josefina's and Kit's costume (those were all pieces we found after souring local Goodwills).
We made sure to take a trip to the new American Girl store that was just put in in our area and all of the workers totally flipped out and took a bunch of photos of us to send to corporate. It was a super cool experience.
Funny story though, our Kit in the picture wasn't actually supposed tom play Kit. She was originally Mickey Mouse, but we had a last minute substitution since our original Kit got grounded. Still fabulous though.
Also, Addy was played by an Indian girl, but the people at Mattel don't need to know that.

Samantha - (Me)
Kirsten, Felicity, Josefina, Addy, and Julie do not have DAs (at least they don't in my knowledge)

I want to be samantha for halloween. Did you make the pattern for the dress, yourself? Β I know that a pattern for the same outfit exists ,but it's worth alot of money and I wouldn't use it for anything. So, I'm trying to make my own.

If I remember right, we ended up just modifying a pattern that we found at the store around Halloween.
Finding a decent fabric was definitely the worst part.

Oh okay, thankfully I found a diy tutorial how to make a box pleated dress. Kinda resembles her dress. Good thing I have my samantha doll for a better idea for what it looks like .

It figures that Kit would be the one to get grounded....lol jk
This is really neat though! I wish I could cosplay as an American Girl. I look almost exactly like Nicki, but I don't have freckles.Β
You make a really adorable Samantha btw (:

It wasn't funny at the time, but looking back on it, it is a little bit. XD Luckily our friend clad in a Mickey Mouse costume was willing to step in. Glad to know you like it.

That's cool the AG workers liked it. Which AG store was this at?

It was at the newest one: the St. Louis/Chesterfield, MO store. It's a lot smaller than the other stores since it's connected to a mall, but it's really nice inside. We all live about 30 minutes out from it.

O, the Chicago store is closest to me. I'm 35 minutes away from it no traffic.

I haven't been to the Chicago store in years.
You're so lucky! It's such a beautiful store. Is the food at the restaurant still delicious? :3

Thanks. I really want to go to the restaurant. I ate at the old AG Place when I was 11 or 12. I'm sure it is delicious. I hope I can eat at AGP sometime.

I know! I was totally surprised that there weren't many examples of it. Before we got our group together I did some googling and didn't actually find any images of people cosplying as the girls. All I could find were forums about it. Hopefully my friends and I can being the rest of the AG girls to life sometime soon.
