Description This is a little thing I'm dabbling around with between projects. There's still some work to be done on it, will upload it again once I'm finished with it.

It would look a bit better with a little more light, otherwise it's beautiful! Β

Oh I dunno, get to grips with what add to it next I guess I haven't really gotten to any tricky parts yet with this one but perhaps I will at some point

More or less. I started with a rough sketch of course and drew the general shapes up, tried different ones and postioned them accordingly. After that I filled the various, large shapes and arranged them with different shades of grey to work that depth in; darker in the foreground and lighter in the background. A slight vignetted, dark tint around the whole canvas can also help with finding the correct mood. Then it's the matter of drawing/painting up the structures of the buildings, rock formations and stuff that's going to be the detail within the larger shapes and I usually do this with black set with a little transparency. I also tend to add a little light as well with white, also set to transparency and work on a specific part ( like the centered pillar with all the buildings and stuff ) until I feel I'm heading in the right direction. I then use that part as a reference for everything else in the artwork, so I'll know what level of detail I should aim for in the other parts. Then it's just a matter of painting everything Not sure if my method is helpful or anything but that's more or less the way I usually go about these things

Thank you, its very helpful. I really liked that idea about using one piece as a reference for what level of detail im aiming for on the rest, Im defeintlly gonna use that.Β
Because sometimes its really hard to know when something is done.Β

You're welcome, I hope it works for you as well And as for knowing when you're done? Sometimes I'm never done, I see new things I want to add/adjust/remove/shape up or sharpen/highlight. I can keep adding things indefinitely on some pieces and this process can stretch out for years but don't tell anyone that^^. Future employers don't like it when they find that you enjoy what you do too much and that you're taking your time with it since they always want things done in an ok fashion yesterday

Hey thanks, funny and true.
Alot of times the only way for me to get done is to suprise myself and do something I didnt expect.
