Description These two fellers are Kherzam ( the dwarf ) and Tapio ( the man ).

Kherzam is a Tirak slayer ( Tiraks are like orcs only much more bad ass and much bigger ) and Tapio is a path finder.

They are both commissioned work, put together especially for Björn Maxe and Tobias Degerfeldt, two swedish RPG- players and these two are their characters since many years back. I've come across many players who've been playing their characters for a very long time and I can well understand if they'd want a picture of them since they're already very intimated with them.

Kherzam's Björns' character and Tapio is of course Tobias character.

The RPG-world where these two resides in is the swedish fantasy RPG Eon, a game I've made many illustrations for earlier in my life, some of them can be found in my gallery, like Balcony Battle for instance or Battle Field.

Thats how he got his name Wulf ^^

Tapio and Kherzam came to be in the summer of -97, when three strapping young lads decided to try this "RPG" thing out, pen and paper style. Wasnt the first characters we ever did, but probably are the most loved ones. Theyve gone through lots of adventures and will prob end up collected in novels and books when we feel were up to the task

The reason we commission MiG was just becouse of his involvement of the RPG in question (EON). We liked his style of art and thought he was the most suited person to put our characters to life.

Great work MiG, even though I was a bit sceptic about the size of the hood at first on Tapio I must say ive grown quite fond of it ^^

The original will be framed and put up on one of Bjorns (Kherzams) many walls at home, where there probably will be a couple more in the near future

Hi Tobias, yeah I heard about your concern about the hood and I did shrink it a little but since it's a Lion's head after all I figured it couldn't be too small since they're bloody huge beasts. Any smaller and it would've looked like an Ocelot or something, i.e not the correct thing then

As for other commissions you're both welcome with whatever you want me to draw for you Thanks Tobias

cool characters! In Finlands mythology Tapio is god of the forest.. so the pathfinders name suits him well

MiG-05 In reply to black-sepulture [2007-04-15 23:18:18 +0000 UTC]

Hi black. Well I dunno, sometimes it can be really frustrating since some people are so anal about what they want painted that they become stupid and can't see that what they want in the artwork simply won't work and looks horrible in it. Happened quite a few times and I always loathe them types of commissions, they always irritates me since I really don't like creating crap but hey, since they want it the way they describe it then them's the breaks I guess.

It went well this time though. Thanks black

black-sepulture In reply to MiG-05 [2007-04-16 12:32:05 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, i guess it can be a bit of a bitch... Most ppl dont really know what they want until they can actually see it.

Great work tho...

Too true my friend and it's not only when it comes to art where you can spot this rather stupid "blindness", you find it everywhere. My guess is that we have way too many things to choose from in this world. It's like when we make the big food and grocery shopping, our fridge/freezer and cupboards are filled to the brim with food and suddenly I have absolutely no clue what I want to eat. If we have a small amount of food to choose from I know exactly what I want. Funny that eh?

I get that a lot my friend... I work for an architect company here in SA and the 3D renderings is still a relatively new thing around here. Clients are completely happy with what they see on plan 'cause they cant really visualise the concept of the house. When i do it in 3D for them , then there is a million things that have to be changed.

You know, sometimes I wonder why some people place an order in the first place since they don't seem to have a clue of what to do with it when it's finished. I guess they have an idea at one point and write it down somewhere on their to do's and that's why they then places that order but when they finally get what they originally wanted they find themselves in no need of it. This has apparently occured a few times with pieces I've made for certain people. Not that I complain since I get paid anyway but it seems like such a waste of time and money in my opinion. Strange things takes place in this world of our's

Walthanar [2007-04-10 09:12:20 +0000 UTC]

Oh... my... god!

What really impresses me in your works is how well you can differentiate the materials' surfaces, even without airbrush, believe me, you're a master here, and when I project my personal (not commissioned) works I really think to your skill. Wow, the feathers, the long fur, the short fur, the fabric, the rough leather, the polished leather, the metal, the chainmail, the wood... all in a greatly rendered lightning and shading, very good anatomy, convincing poses and expressions.

It's very "real", they wear torn and fixed clothings, their weapons bear the marks of their adventures, they're dirty, signed, full of "trophies" of their wanderings, and let's say "asymmetric", in the sense that they're not schematic, precise, perfect like a Final Fantasy character, they look like having a true life, with what happens having marked them.

10+ (here in italy it's over the best mark you can get at highschool )

Oh I never leave the drawing, it's one of the main constants in my life Mostly it's for commissioned work though and most of it can't be hosted as of yet since a lot of them are for games yet to hit the market. I can only submit the illustrations when they've been released unfortunately. Thanks mind you

MiG-05 In reply to Wytherwing [2007-04-30 23:07:32 +0000 UTC]

Ah yes, originally there was supposed to be a background as well but I in the end decided it would make the image look crowded since they already fill up so much space on the paper so I excluded it
