*EDIT* PLEASE IGNORE THE EXTRA STORY. It was a dumb idea. In fact when I go back and update this later (cause I'm totally planning to), I plan to change the ending altogether. I may have been a bit depressed when I wrote this, and although the ending works well for a horror story, I feel like it takes away from the general theme (which is hard enough to figure out already.)Warning: This story may be disturbing to some readers.
Attempting to figure out the mystery, you should be prepared for an even more disturbing story.

Ahhhh, I have really mixed feelings on the extra story, myself. :c I kind of feel like a sympathetic backstory was really unneeded and takes away from the whole thing, but at the same time I kind of liked the idea that he had a chance at redemption, but by doing nothing, he became all the worse. I guess more than anything I feel like it's really unrealistic and rushed. If I remake this, I'd really like to add a true alternate good ending where Catherine can gain the courage to return home.

Part of me doesn't want to ruin the mystery, though (for multiple reasons)...To help you out I'll go ahead and say Miss Cat and Catherine (the girl) are the same person. Catherine is imagining herself to be a cat (because she's young, lonely, and likes cats).
