I'd say Peorth's French accent and obsession with roses are the least of her problems.

I actually like Peorth, but I hate the same things about her you do. As I understand it, in the original Japanese manga, she just spoke more refined and courtly (and they dropped the accent in the English version), which got me thinking... Why not make her an Audrey Hepburn-type call girl? Refined, educated, intelligent, graceful... and yet she's still a hooker in a skintight swimsuit and chastity belt.

'Still a hooker in a skintight swimsuit?' I think that's putting it a little to far. True I don't like her, but I wouldn't go that far to describe her. She feels more like a pure-god clone of Urd.

I admit, there are similarities, but to me, Urd is, shall we say, relatively inhibited, but more reckless. Peorth is the opposite; very uninhibited, if you will, very liberated, but otherwise formal and cautious. As I said, though, I think there were better ways Peorth could be presented...

Aww, that was still lovely.
But really, why with the Peorth hate?
Not that there's a problem with loving demons.

I think it's because of how similar she is as a character to Urd. That in a combination of when it was she appeared in the series rubbed me the wrong way.

I'm a bit confused, why would when have anythign to do with it, because it was in the second season?
Still while the character does seem a tad bit redundent, she's still a fun addition to the cast i feel, though i think that's because there's such a lack of characters like Urd that can be played off each other in a fun rivalry.
Mara can fill this niche a bit, but her adverserial nature makes it harder to achieve such relations on a regular basis, Peorth being a goddess of similar personality and character, but superior rank makes her a better foil for such interactions, as she represents what Urd could be if she became more goddess like, better to serve this role than either Belldandy or other characters, making her as a choice for judging Urd's license exam arc an excellent choice, but at the same time i wasted oppertunity because while we saw in Peorth's POV the danger of Urd's demon side and by extension the discrimination Urd feels from her fellows, and Urd's own desire to become a better goddess contrasted with her conflicting need to be free enough to be herself, i feel that the lack of direct interaction and capitalizing on their similarities and differences was a missed point and could've made for a much better story were it the main focus for the concluding half of that arc, rather than retreading the pointless and repititive nature of K1/Bell's pairing (yes i want them to bloody get on with it already, what the hell are they waiting for?!)

You do bring up a good point with the rivalry between the Urd and Peorth, but I just can't help it. For me she's just a character who rubs me the wrong way, like a cat being pet by a child against it's fur. My hair stands straight up in annoyance with her.

Oh alright fair enough, still she makes a nice, fun addition to the cast i felt, seeing its nice to have another Urd-type character around to balance off Belldandy's mary-sueness and Skuld's Tsundere.
