I thought that I would post another old picture that I was not quite pleased with. I liked the idea but the execution left me a little cold. Oh well, maybe you will like it.Related content

It's a great idea, composition is excellent, lighting is great. The only thing that brings it down are the textures, and unless you've got a big collection of shaders AND the scene you used is set up well to use new ones, there isn't much you can do about that. I've got a few renders in my library with the same issue, and have scrapped even more because of it.

I really should have used a different grass shader, maybe dirt. I might should also have tried a different color on the black dragon (I don't think green looked good with the grass). Overall, I think it's the grass that I don't like.
Yeah, my library has plenty of renders taking up space where something went wrong. I tend to keep them just in case I run out of ideas and want to try redoing them.

The gold texture would probably have worked better in this particular render than the black did, I think the gold one is the weakest of the textures. I love the expressions you've got on the dragons, all I can ever manage is various stages of I'm going to eat you.

I probably would have done well just to have a herd of grays or reds.
Thanks! Maybe it's just a matter of degrees of "I'm going to eat you" or eyebrows. I like fooling with eyebrows (or whatever they are on a dragon).
