Species: Cursed Khallesian (and sort of warlocks?)
The Khallesian are an ancient human civilisation originating (approximately) from the Balkans. They would believe that each human was created by their respective spirit - like Sitka was by Nóriel. The human is their spirit's mortal alter ego, brought to life to keep the world's energetic balance. Once they die, their soul returns to the spirit and it creates a new human to lead through their life.
Sitka was cursed at the age of 23. In effect, he turns into Nóriel - his spirit's human form - when he's poured cold water* onto. Respectively, Nóriel turns back into him through contact with hot water*. They can communicate with each other inside their shared mind, but the person in the background cannot communicate with others, unless via the other as a mediator. They as well obtained immortality (coming from Norrie's semi-goddess status) - they won't die unless their vessel is completely destroyed, through burning, for example.
* The water has to soak most of their bodies to take effect.

- Expert watermancy - having built a foundation for the craft in an academy they had once attended, the two can control water to the point they nearly can switch between bodies at will.
● Physical strength - thanks to ages of training, Sitka is stronger than average humans (but not inhumanely strong).

● Quick wit - being the thinking part ofthe duet, he got himself and Norrie out of a lot of problems and dangers.

The first glance you take at Sitka will most probably tell you he's an old, sarcastic grump... And that wouldn't be too far from the truth. Uncomfortable in bigger groups of strangers, he usually comes off as cold and distanced, speaking up only when he finds it necessary, often seeming uncaring. Off-guard, he can be caught around people he trusts, and the change is colossal: as much as he keeps his rough, blunt attitude, he can as well be seen much more relaxed, gentle and with a sense of humour even.
In a group, he's usually the one who gives out ideas based on observation; he doesn't attack without knowing what he's dealing with. Still, he's a knight in shining armour, a man of action and extremely loyal. Ready to stand for his people to the point of masochism. Given a task, he will do it - not without complaining, but still, a duty is a duty. Unfortunately to him, his temper is too short to hold back emotions sometimes and he may end up getting brutal.

Norrie is your loving big (...well, not big, but older) sister figure - she's extremely supportive of her friends and always wishes the best for them, as it's in her interest, to keep them happy. She's a cheerful person, very enthusiastic, who enjoys a good adventure or a good book likewise; kind of a nerd, more accurately: a Potterhead who collects merchandise, will throw references at you and be disappointed if you don't get them. Pretty touchy-feely, will hug people she likes randomly and without a special reason to.
Every coin has two sides, however, and so does her affection. When she's into something, she's prone to getting obsessive about it, to the point of ordering people around to make her wish come true. She gets possessive over those she loves - which is self explanatory.
Being single, she harmlessly flirts with the handsome - she was, in fact, never a good girl. But if in relationship, her seductivity is reserved for her partner only.
History: Sitka grew up in Khallesia - a now non-existent, small land somewhere in Balkans - in a wealthy family, as the eldest child of three and only son. As such, he was entitled to inherit all of his family's possessions after his father's death, as well as the right to make final decisions regarding his sisters's lives. He never lacked a thing, was handling expectations rather well due to his intelligence and physical skills - and so he grew up to be a rather spoiled brat, busy spending his days with friends mostly, and as soon as his needs started getting more mature, courtesans. Apart from his little sisters, whom he treated like princesses, he didn't care all that much for the family and the heritage.
When he was 23, the older of his sisters, Kida, turned 16. According to the Khallesian traditions, she was now old enough to be found a husband and leave the family. Sitka, however, knew how scared she was - and understood that very well. Himself, he was not ready for a marriage whatsoever, either, and was doing everything in his might to avoid an arranged one. Soon, he got an idea to stand up for both of them, as well as the youngest, Sana, and refuse to follow the tradition. He was the future head of the family, he was entitled to make such decisions, right?
...well, not exactly. The local priest got enraged by the young man's pride and during a confrontation between them, he put an unknown curse on Sitka to punish him. This was where Nóriel, his creating spirit, came in. The two got tied together, resulting in the girl losing most of her powers. No one knows whether the curse was supposed to be this powerful or did it simply go terribly wrong; but Nóriel's fellow spirits, offended by the priest's arrogant action, threw him into the darkest depths of Oblivion before Sitka could ask him that or what to do to reverse it. No one seemed to know a solution - not even Nóriel's spiritual and demonic friends. As the time flied, it became apparent that Sitka wouldn't age at all, and from the looks of it, he had acquired Nóriel's immortality due to the connection. That, however, meant she wouldn't be able to free herself from him after his death, regain her powers, create a new human and move on.
Years later, Sitka's family tree died out, and eventually, so did the entire Khallesian culture. The man played a big role in covering the tracks and destroying every evidence remaining, to protect himself and Nóriel from historians and scientists of the world who may get some bad ideas as to how to use an actual spirit to advance their fields. The two found shelter under the wings of Nóriel's old friend, Samael - as well as his entourage of retired gods and demi-gods, who had lost their place in their respective pantheons this or that way, just like Nóriel had lost hers.
They began travelling the world, and Nóriel's increasing obsession with becoming a human became a drive for their numerous adventures. They lived in Avalon for a period of time and Sitka found an authority figure in King Arthur. They were in ancient Rome and Victorian England; in the Blairney Castle and Dracula's Castle. The only place they did not go to was Hogwarts, Nóriel's lifetime obsession - it's fictional, after all, although there have been some weird rumors that Helga Hufflepuff was indeed her in disguise...
Eventually, they found themselves in another realm, to attend an academy of dark arts, where they picked up two new skills: watermancy, to help themselves understand their curse better, and potionsmaking, to... Well, it was simply yet another obsession at first. However, the more they were familiar with this art, the more it seemed possible, to develop a potion that could allow them permanently split into two independent beings. Hints were everywhere: a gender-changing potion they were once assigned to do, one that could mesh two people together, done by an older student... All they needed was to finish the puzzle.
This had to wait, however. One of their close friends, Stren, was about to become a father - and he wanted Sitka to become the godfather. Having been denied a family life for so long - and, frankly, missing it - the two decided to pause their studies and move in to Stren's family mansion. They helped taking care of the man's wife, and later, the baby twins. This went on for over a year.
Finally, Samael entered the stage again; this time, to remind Nóriel about the existence of Sefer. Now that she lived in a realm more stable magically than Earth, she and Sitka could safely enter the library. She found this to be a great opportunity: maybe somewhere, in the depths of the library, there were answers they needed.
They moved to Er'el - to give Stren's new family more space, while still maintaining a regular contact thanks to the bridge connection between the two realms. Now, they are roaming the library for knowledge that could help them. Roaming and fighting off anything that stands in their way.

MISCELLANEOUS
- The curse was inspired by Rumiko Takahashi's Ranma 1/2.
- Sitka doesn't have a last name. The Khallesian were instead using graphic symbols, similar to primitive crests, to tell one family from another.
- Their favourite song is Elvis Presley's Stuck On You (oh, the irony).
- Sitka owns a cerberus puppy, given to them by Samael a couple years ago. Its heads's names are Samael, Lucifer and Mephistopheles - or simply, Sam, Luc and Meph.
- Out of the two of them, only Sitka is fertile; it's an observation based on that Nóriel barely ever had a full menstruation cycle (she's just always too shortly in her form), let alone changing for long enough to be pregnant and give birth; meanwhile, sperm needs way less time to be produced.

Sitka: *he entered yet another alley of the library - with a hand on the handle of his sword. Bonnie had allowed him in one of the restricted areas, trusting that he would be okay in there. He definitely wasn't going to get eaten by something.* Okay, let's see what we got here... *he took a book off the shelf and opened it. It was filled with some peculiar symbols that looked nothing like the alphabet he was familiar with. He frowned.* Nóriel, do you understand any of this? *Sure. It says "throw the chopped fingers into a pot of boiling, salty water and stir well until the blood mixes with it..."* ...okay, it's definitely not what we're looking for. *he put the book back* *But it was a cooking recipe! Close enough, I guess?*
Paragraph Sample:
Nóriel sat on the bare, wooden floor with her legs crossed and opened the book. It was fairly thick, however, the girl browsd through it with a surgeon's presicion; she knew every word hidden in it, had studied every single letter, analyzed every dot and every comma. She knew the book by heart.
"I'm telling you, Sitka," she snarled, irritated by any sort of possible distrust in her. "I know what I saw, and it's right here." Of course she did, dammit! This, this was what she lived for! She knew everything there was to know in this topic!
"Fine, you saw, great. Thing is, I really don't give a fuck."
"How can you not?!", the girl gasped. "Draco is a werewolf! I can prove it!"
The sigh she heard inside her head was a heavy one.
