It takes me forever to find where they are, and when I finally do locate them and get close enough to get a decent photo, they always seem to wait until I just get the camera set up and take off. The rest of the day, they never come down from the canopy. This has been the same routine for a few years now. It's maddening.

Would be maddening for me too but console yourself in knowing that you are still lucky to see them often while I saw this one only 3 days in 15 years.

It took me a long time to learn what to look for and where to look. Now, I see them all the time. It's like that with every bird: once you see one, it seems like they're everywhere! Glad to see you were able to get a cool shot of this one. Hope he comes back to you.
