(I've never seen anything poop out of it's head before)

Jokes aside, I like how you combined the elephant/goblin style with the fairy (or elvish) ears. It kind of makes it look fairytale-like, but still causing it look like a disgusting mud creature. It looks like it belongs in the water - the warts and frog-like appearance make it look like it's in its natural habitat~

I didn't end up seeing the movie because of the medium reviews it got and How to Train Your Dragon coming out around at the same time, so I never got to see this little guy in action.

How can one make a truly disgusting creature look so adorable. Great work on that expression that just completely captures my heart.

This is great, my friend.
Are you still working exclusively in Painter? I think I see some oil brushes on that tree, there. Did you use oil brushes throughout the painting?

this is still fine for maleficent :3 nothing wrong there let him be aΒ beautiful creature and "cuuuuuuurious little beeeeeeasty"

but what good is something ugly without a beautiful frog...... and fluffy gremlins that bring peace and not joy :3 ??????

Maybe a Pixar short film for these guys....don't know if Disney would do it even though they own Pixar. So far they seem to still try to keep the brand names segregated.

Do not often comment but this conceptual illustration spoke to me. The warm lighting reflecting off the textured skin is great.

Atmosphere/mood fits quite nicely with this creature as well. I often see designs where the atmosphere doesnt quite work well with the creature.
Think you did justice here..

Don't get me started on the expression. It is...hysterical. "hehe (snort) /heh heh (snort) " is what I hear it doing. You definitely conveyed not only a story of this creature, but a voice with it as well..Very well done lol.

Only thing that could possibly be improved on (correct me if I'm wrong) is perhaps showing a little warm light reflected in the water. To me, just seems the light hits the creature very strongly which makes wonder about why there isnt any warm light reflected in the water.

Also im not sure if there would be more detail +shadows where it steps in the water.. Possbily a ripple around that area? Then again it could of been just standing there looking all cray cray until the ripple died out. Who knows, maybe the detail in water would take away from the focus of the creature.

Again, wonderful illustration! Hope this gets a Daily Deviation.

Think this was my very first critique lol.
