The Second pope painting , a big painting of a great great man , took me long time to get the shape right even i do use tracing method in this one, but from a VERY SMALL photo with a watermark from the internet, lol..........not one of the best memory of all time.by the way , any comment that contain bad things toward the Pope are not welcome .

The level of photorealism is impressive.
As per comments or opinions on the Pope, and the entire Vatican at large, they're irrelevant. After the current scandal, the truth is emerging and some consciences will be touched. That's all that matters.

When is this going to be done? I just stumbled across it today, and it looks really good! Extremely realistic, the lighting and the details are just mind blowing!
I really, really cant wait to see it when it's complete! It already looks sooo good!
THE most realistic coloured artwork i have ever seen in my life, and i love how you made the thurible blurry when His Holiness waves it to spread the incense.
Anyway, Im really looking forward to seeing it complete

it was basicly done , i just don't have the time to take the photo since the original painting wasn't in my hand and i am busying running my new workshop these year. but i promise i will post it asap.

This is spectacular....*shakes head in disbelief* I just finished looking around your gallery and YOU ARE AMAZING!!! It looks like you blew up a photo digitally rather than by acrylic -by HAND. omGUDness I'm still in shock -lol.

hello again...you know, i just had to tell you that I sometimes stare at this and some other of your peices for very long periods of time because I am in such awe...I know you get this kind of comment a lot but I couldn't help myself...I am just blown away how much detail you put into everything. I wish I could watch you work in real life, just observe for hours. hey, maybe you could make a video or dvd of some sort!!! just kidding (but that would be neat)...anway, I am very inspired by you to get better and spend so much more time on my art. And also, just the fact that you do photorealism of people in today's artworld where crap conceptual art is so revered is admirable in itself. May I ask where you went to school, or were you self taught? At the college I attended for art, it was a bit frustrating being a portrait artist among so many people who did abstract art. Of course, this was in the states, so I was wondering if it's like this where you live? This is a longer comment than I anticipated, sorry! anways, thank you for sharing your work!!

As the great bob ross said.' painting is an very individual thing' , for everyone , some conceptual art are not that bad ,i 've learn many things in most of them , as for abstract....i not sure they should be consider as "art" , but....what do i know ,lol.
realism ever was and still the most popular style in general , even once in a while there is some abstact art sale billion dollars , but honestly ,those are just rubbish-canvus without someone promoting the piece.
Just paint what you like and believes ,and if ur believes is strong enough , your art will eventurally touch peoples , its not much different here in hong kong , people rather buy share-stocks than spent time on something that not promising there will be gain$$$.
But anyway , I really appreciate your compliments ,and keep up the good works , maryse. = )

unbelieveble, i'm always amazed at such realistic work....i must say, it was never my favourite...
but...........i can't say that now, plus i admire your greatly for paiting this and showing it off (i have a poster of JPII in my room, he's right behind me)
