Just finished up this commission a few weeks ago. I haven't been doing too many of these lately due to being really busy with storyboards, but I really enjoyed picking up the pencils, pens, and brushes to work on this! If anyone is interested, my commission rate is $350 for single character, full color, on colored paper.Related content

My commission rate is based on how long it takes me to produce the work, and on the fact that I am creating an original and unique piece that has value if sold by the owner. I realize not everyone can afford that, but I would rather produce work that I am proud of than produce something sub-par for less money. I calculated that amount based on my professional rate per hour, and it is actually quite a bit less than I would make working the same amount of time at my day job. I have been working professionally in comics and animation for 12 years, and I don't need or want to take on a large number of commissions.

it kind of a buzz kill that marvel depowered hafe of the mutants witch is why I stick to the old classic and ultimate x-men comics

Thanks man! I haven't done ANYTHING on that project for a few months now...I was realllllly busy up until recently(taking a Concept Design class, doing freelance, and working on Turtles at the same time). I just changed jobs about a month ago and I'm now working on the Guardians animated series at Marvel. Hopefully I'll be able to get back in the groove of working on that story in the next few weeks!
