I think that when you use backgrounds in your work the figure renderings look a lot better - maybe you should use more rendered backgrounds instead of black?

I love the effect used to get the different plainer variations; the highs and the lows; the lights and the darks; shadowing in general

actually the pose is exceptional. the sublety of the effect for magic used is also very nice. the composition of elements is classical and very alluring. some more effort might have been paid to overall colour themes, but it is truely excellent imagry.
