Thanks, glad you like the shot. It is one of the typical compos that get on the travel brochures, not my usual kind of photography but I happened to have the time to capture the colourful fishing boat against the historical b/g.

Hi Malcolm,
First of all thanks for the faves. On tourism brochures and ads, scenes of Malta almost invariably include the traditional fishing boat. Little by little, these picturesque and very sea-worthy vessels are being replaced by modern designs. Hope [in the future]we will still have some left to use as photographic subjects.

You are very welcome on the We have a lot of people of maltese descent in Australia usually with a surname of Vella.

It's a shame when you lose a lot of the past which is usually more picturesque.

Vella is a common surname here in Malta. I guess life has become too fast and traditions are being sidelined.
