Yes, you right. I saw your picture a while ago and remembered it. And it's beautiful, really. But my art I specifically tried to do as much as possible not like your. Forgive me if I have not got it are not too.
The similarity between yours and mine Kili I saw only then I was colored it ._.
Maybe, really great minds think similar? :з (sorry if my English broke your eyes)

Considering the scene you two are both, obviously, inspired by, and after observing both pieces, I see no issues.  
If anyone here should feel copied, it's Disney.  :/

Well, I actually gave credit to Disney... 

And the fact that Kili is placed between Thorin's legs in both drawings, which was not in the movie considering there only was one cub in the movie.

I saw that, but my point still stands.

As far as the issue with the extra cub resting by the chest of the parent: that seems like a very insignificant, and common, similarity.  There are a multitude of Lion King fan-works relating the under the stars scene with an extra cub lying between the paws of the parents.  A few examples are  ,  ,  , and  .

If the poses and angles were the exact same, then I'd see the issue.  I say this because, when I was doing a lot of TLK fan-art, I was going to paint a scene just like this with Kovu and his children.  Long story short, anything related to this is not original, and the origin of such a commonality can only be traced back to the movie.

You're right about the poses. But basically, I wrote that I used TLK as inspiration on mine, and the drawings are similar so if Mganga used mine as inspiration it would be nice if they could have said that. Not saying that they did, but if, considering they have faved mine and such. and of course, if I was used as an inspiration I'd be extremely honored!

I really don't want to cause drama or something...

Perhaps they did, perhaps they didn't.  Not trying to cause a ruckus, either, just pointing out that I had the exact same poses in mind for my Kovu family portrait and no one would have got credit for the inspiration but Disney because this is a very simple, and common, idea.  :/

Well, the crossover between The hobbit and TLK was my idea. Not taking copyright for it, but still. 
But let's call this over.
