I've been playing with new ways to accomplish shading in illustrator trying to speed up the process a bit. This illustration was done mostely with the gradient mesh tool but in a variety of ways.You can check out the progression of this illustration here --> [link]

I remember seeing your gallery before and probably already commented. Sorry if I'm repeating myself, I have memory problems.
Anyway, I like this one especially because it was drawn from scratch. You make vectors look like bitmap brushed work, although it ends looking much better as it keeps the sharpness. How come all the phases of your WIP look good? You should mentor me one day, when you have the time.

Yep, only Adobe illustrator on this piece and most of my other work. If it's done on the computer I used illustrator. Although I have to admit I'm kind of interested in learning Painter, I've seen some impressive work from that program as well!
