No kidding. Michael C. Hall as Kirk Langstrom in that movie was hands down perfect! And Superman as the son of General Zod and adopted by immigrants in Arizona? Seriously, that gives his "immigrant from the stars" a whole new level of depth and duality.

No kidding. And they felt more sympathetic. Batman only got his powers because he didn't want to die from lymphoma, Superman grew up getting shit for being a Mexican-Kryptonian immigrant, and Wonder Woman had her husband murdered before her by her own grandfather. Not to mention that Lex Luthor was actually a good guy in the story, arguably being the most moral character in the entire movie, which is a huge departure from the humanocentrist egomaniac that he is usually portrayed as. I wish they'd do a sequel to the movie, showing how Batman and Superman use Kryptonian science to improve the state of the planet. I'd love to see that in action!

The originals have been done to death. I'm ready for a new take on a classic, and these four new iterations are easily some of the most interesting alternate versions of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Lex Luthor that I have ever seen. One thing I found very satisfying about Superman's mannerisms was his tendency to interject Spanish into his lines, which is something that many Hispanic people in my hometown of Mesa do when speaking with relatives who learned Spanish and English together or English as their second language. It shows how he hasn't abandoned his human upbringing just because he has access to his Kryptonian heritage.
I also found Superman's two-fold take on being an immigrant to be incredibly fascinating due to my background in social sciences. What do you think about that?

I agree. Superman in his traditional portrayals is nauseatingly straight-laced. Seeing a more human, vindictive, and ultimately cavalier attitude by him that makes both the civilians in the film as well as the audience question whether he is a hero or an anti-hero make him more interesting. He is obviously trying to do good, but is far more callous in how it's done, making him the most morally ambiguous incarnation of the Man of Steel so far without being a complete villain. It's obvious that he feels compassion, such as when he reluctantly kills Kid Brainiac in the promo that came out before the film's release, or when he grieves at the corpses of Silas and Victor Stone in their lab. He's not heartless, just a darker Superman, which I find makes him more easy to relate to than the Big Blue Boy Scout. His temper, his belief in sacrificing others for the greater good, his friendship with Batman, and his tenuous relationship with the United States Government make for some interesting interactions.

In the Rise of Semaphry timeline, something similar to this happens to the Cortascian Knights. They humor the officers a bit, and allow themselves to be arrested. But when the world needs them to stop the Gwirdons from assassinating the president, they stop playing along and break out of jail with minimal effort. Since their identities have already been exposed by that point, they don't care. (Keeping their identities a secret is not required, but they tried to anyway as a matter of personal convenience.)

Nothing in the rules say that they can't defend themselves.
Like Ninjutsu, the Power Rangers don't START fights.
but, are to engage in battles that other's start to finish them.
All those soldiers need to do is fire first, and they'll get their asses kicked.
I mean. COME ON. It's The Power Rangers!

Really, this is the kind of thing you'd see in Kamen Rider. NOT Power Rangers.
And I can't help but picture Stone being Lieutenant just by defying orders from his superior after this...and he then gets Bulk and Skull, two fellow fanboys of the Power Rangers, under his charge as the few military Ranger fans.
Yeah, I watched the classic Rangers. Lieutenant Stone would probably be on the side of the Ranger Fans within the military if there were any. Otherwise, it's bad writing.

Just goes to show just how 'Realistic' THIS Power Rangers universe is.
as unlike in the TV Series, people here aren't so quick to accept the Power Rangers,
and their many Zord/Giant Monster fights as something that's "just another Tuesday."
Their gonna ask questions, and debate whether the Power Rangers
really are 'Good for Angel Grove', or if they are the cause of the problem, not the solution.
It's like Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Captain America: Civil War.
CAN we trust a team of masked superhumans
armed with giant robots, who could easily wipe us all out??
And, even if we can. Shouldn't they be held responsible
for all the destruction that they leave behind after their battles??
If THIS is going to be the theme of the proposed film series,
then the sequel films are going to be very interesting.

This ties in with my own theories for a sequel. I've got it mapped out mentally as follows:
- They'll skip over Green with Evil. Tommy is already a Green Ranger. He's revealed to be a grieving brother to a man who died from King Sphinx.
- Madame Woe kills Zack, and Adam has replaced him. This is explained in the opening credits via exposition. Adam is in Angel Grove because his family is fleeing the Triads, who've taken over their old neighborhood. Adam himself nearly joined a gang, before ultimately deciding against it.
- Jason dies in the opening scene, giving his life to save Tommy, whose Green Ranger powers are floundering as the Dragonzord becomes harder to control. Tommy is struggling against recurring visions of Rita as well, and is often in pain. Rocky, later revealed to be desiring a future as a fireman like his father (who died in the first film), discovers the Red Power Coin that Jason dropped upon dying. The coin chooses Rocky, who decides to fight Lokar in spite the risk in order to avenge Jason's honor. Rocky helps lead the team to victory against Lokar.
- June Kwan turns to drinking. She is super manipulative, so she still has custody of the kids. Trini's father has separated from her, and is trying to win custody.
- Aisha, a wannabe social worker, is now friends with Trini. She is helping Trini through her various problems, or trying to. She also wonders what's up with Tommy, and all of Trini's other friends.
- A rogue NSA agent and several rogue FBI factions decide to ignore Trump's orders to keep their distance from the Power Rangers, and instead begin actively trying to forge secret police within Angel Grove to weed out the Rangers.
- The government begins creating a faction called the Silver Guardians (based on the ones in Time Force) as a "more permanent solution" to the continuing alien threats, as the stability and sustainability of the Rangers as a means to an end is highly questionable.
- Drunk and jealous of Trini's success with her friends, June goes snooping around and discovers Trini's Power Coin. She seizes it, then contacts the Silver Guardians in order to turn in Trini.
- SWAT show up at the house to arrest the Rangers. Kimberly gets Trini's brothers out of harm's way. Aisha discovers the Yellow Coin amidst the chaos, and vows to herself to protect it. The coin chooses her. She puts a mask over her face and rushes in to save Trini from being murdered by an overzealous agent. This selfless act causes Aisha to morph.
- Trini orders Aisha to flee. She does so. June is killed amidst the chaos, when a bullet aimed for Trini hits June instead. Thus, June is unable to reveal Aisha's identity.
- Trini is arrested. Her brothers refuse to sell out Aisha.
- Aisha and Kimberly find each other, but are then immediately assaulted by Scarlet Sentinel.
- The boys rush in to help Kimberly and Aisha against Scarlet Sentinel, but Tommy's powers continue to fail.
- The Rangers are forced to retreat. They head to the Command Center, and Zordon informs them that Lord Zedd is arriving to Earth from Edenoi. Zedd wants to carve out a galactic empire for himself, but has been competing for control of Edenoi with Count Dregon. Zedd has his sites set on Earth, and is minions are more powerful than Rita's automatons.
- Tommy starts feeling incredibly ill, and it's revealed that the only way to save him from Rita's corruption is to completely destroy the Green Coin and replace it. To do that, they have to find the White Coin. It's located on Edenoi, being guarded by the royal family there.
- Edenoi is shown in dire disrepair, as Dex is the only Masked Rider remaining.
- Kimberly, Billy, and Aisha agree to stay behind. Both to help find character witnesses for Trini's trial as well as to ensure someone is around to thwart Scarlet Sentinel. Alpha suggests upgrading the Zords, and Zordon approves. He also points out that they have a small shard of the Zeo Crystal that could reformat the Ranger suits themselves. Zordon says that's risky, and they should avoid it for the time being. (Allowing a plug for Zeo.)
- Adam, Rocky, and Tommy head to Edenoi. They clash with Dex almost immediately, but their familiarity with Zordon and Alpha convince Dex to reconsider his assessment of them as enemies.
- Zedd and Mordant (way scarier than his 1995 version) begin wreaking havoc, as do Dregon's forces.
- The Rangers' bravery in saving Dex convinces him to take them to King Lexian. Lexian assesses Tommy's situation, and agrees that the time has come to give the White Coin to Tommy.
- Zedd insists that Scarlet Sentinel give him an update. Sentinel has not yet vanquished the Rangers, so Zedd is on his way.
- As the White Ranger, Tommy activates the Tigerzord. He, Adam, and Rocky decimate both Dregon's forces and Zedd's on Edenoi - but the planet is still in ruins. Dex helps them out, but urges them to go home.
- Upon Tommy's return, he is able to use the Tigerzord to upgrade the other Zords. The six Rangers - now with the White Ranger as leader - use their upgraded Zords to decimate Scarlet Sentinel, and most of Zedd's army.
- Trini's trial doesn't go well, as she's off to prison. However, Dex and several others from across the universe attend the trial. The Silver Guardians decide to back off from trying to apprehend any other Power Rangers, and Trump arranges for a peace treaty with these allies from other worlds in the continued fight against the United Alliance of Evil. Trini agrees to take a plea deal, if it means that no further unwarranted harassment of the Rangers will happen.
- Dark Specter calls forth Zedd to curse him for his failures. Meanwhile, King Mondo sets his sights on the Machine Empire heading to Earth.
=======================
There. Just let Haim know I have this outline of the sequel all mapped out.
