Description The setup is the same as in the previous photo (which I re-edited, btw): northern Norway, 1000m. above the sea, 1am. Sunset.

excellent camera control to get such good definition in a moving object, without the rest of the photo suffering. Sunset at 1am???? that's crazy. beautiful sunset though

Well, not really a sunset - the sun just went behind the range of high mountains and then reappeared again in just 2 hours
This is far beyond the polar cirle, so it never gets really dark in summer.

Very nice looking picture you did. I like the whole organic flow and dream like qualities it has. The border is an interesting choice, for it only covers half of the border area, giving it a movie like quality to it.

Anywho this was a great picture.

I was wondering how do you capture an image like that? Is your shutter speed high enough to capture the intense light? Or is there another way to do it?

Keep up the great work!

Thank you! The light wasn't that intense actually - the sky actually was blue in the original I've just done some color tweaking... I use Canon PowerShot A300, which is a somewhat outdated model today and doesn't have that many options (like shutter speed), unfortunately.

Thank you... was that from Dream Theater? My title actually came from a Pink Floyd song.

That was in norway? Wow, england can be beautiful, i just have never seen it! That is a stunning photo, and on its own would be a beautiful landscape, i like the way his feet are just caught in the sun, and the rest looks like a sillouet. The hills are amazing, they just have so much detail in them, and seem to stetch right away into the sun. I also like the use of the 'wide screen' effect, but not the gradients under the title arround ivan.... , they sorta ruin the effect.
A very good photo and one of my favorites.
also...

Thanks! What looks like hills here, are actually pretty high mountains, some are over 1500m.
I'll go take a look at your gallery now

Thank you. It came to me even before the trip to Norway, and I was delighted to put it to use after climbing the mountain in sunset.
