Description
Here is a preview picture of the front and back of my Gaige cosplay. In about a week, I will have some professional photos to post that were taken in an outdoor location. Until then, you can see some of the details of the cosplay from this picture.Unfortunately, this picture was taken before I put on the piston that hangs off of her brown belt :/
Everything for this cosplay (except for the piston) was made by me. The piston was part of an art trade with Vorpal Props .

Thank you! did you style it yourself? if so, do you have any tips? I went for a bright red Gaige wig when I first did it cause I went by the concept art and when I tried to put it up, it was all patchy and awful at the back D:

The chibi style from Arda Wigs already comes made to be worn in pig tails, so all I really did was cut them shorter and re-position them to be higher up on the head. I put interfacing inside the black "hairbands" to hold the pigtails and make them stick straight out, and then I spiked the ends of the hair a little bit to make it more stylized. Hope that helps! They are made out of spandex - I bought a base pair of white spandex leggings and then patterned out the black stripes and sewed them on using a zigzag stitch

Wow, I love and adore your cosplay! Now for her jacket/vest how would I come about making that? Do I need to just buy a black sleeveless leather vest and go from there?

I bought a grey leather jacket for really cheap and then deconstructed/reconstructed it a bit. I took off the sleeves and refinished the edges there. I patterned out the black pieces as I would pattern out a vest and then hand-stitched them on. I altered the neck significantly so that it stood up straight and was pretty tall, and then I added on a hood. The yellow patch is just made from some extra leather I had around.

I did style it myself. I just put the pigtails higher up on the wig, then secured them with the metal bits. I spiked the ends using freeze spray

Thank you! Yes, I did! It's hand painted with acrylics and then sealed with contact paper. It was fun to make!

Contact paper sounds like a good idea for a durable sealant! I usually just throw 3-5 layers of Rustoleum or Krylon clearcoat on my stuff.

I love Rustoleum! I used that on the gun I made for my Anarchy Panty cosplay and it's great.

I use almost exclusively Rustoleum, with a few Krylons and a few Dupli Color and Plastikote in the colors I can't find. Let me know if you ever have any painting questions!
