I'm waiting for a new hide to come to the house...meanwhile, all I have is smaller scraps of leather. So I made a couple small masks last night. Harlequin Hearts. Available at my Etsy shop... [link]They're a bit simple compared to my usual thing, but I think it's a pretty design idea. I did two, so that a couple could wear them together if they were going to a Valentine-themed party or something like that. Cute! I'd have called them "Harlequin Romance" but I've already used that idea (the harlequin masks with red roses on them).
I also got a bit elaborate and exact with the painting, because I made them while watching a movie on HBO late last night called "Control". It was about Ian Curtis, deceased singer/songwriter of Joy Division. And the movie reminded me how much I love their song "Love Will Tear Us Apart Again". [link] Poor Ian's opus, before he died. The heart masks just had to happen.
Damn...that's a great old song. Suddenly I'm 14. *misty*

Hee! That was a last-minute thing. The burgundy I used for the hearts looked too solid & somber & brown...I though to add gold at first but settled on bright red for the swirls 'cause it brightened them up.

Sometimes, simple is just as pretty as complicated - and this is one of those times. The colour choices and the geometric patterns really work.
